If you guys are Houston would you go for Alan Houston? I know I would because he is a great player we could use. But what could we put toether to get him. You know New York wants a C or PG. What if we were to put together Drew, Cato and (our 4.5 trade money if we have to use it and if this works under salary) Would you guys do the trade? If it were to happen we move Anderson to the SF spot.
We would look like this:
C - Olajuwon, Coller, Miller(if re-signs)
PF - Thomas, Rogers, Bullard
SF - Anderson, Williams, Langi
SG - Houston, Mobley
PG - Francis, Norris

Well I know I would do this trade because I like Alan Houston and would love to see him here. Would you?

No because it would be no time for Cuttino and rockets wont do that. Lets think about the frontcourt and not the backcourt.

I like Houston too, but we've already got Anderson and Mobely. He doesn't fit our youth movement, and I don't believe that Anderson is our solution at SF, or Rudy would have already had Mobely starting at SG. Now I wouldn't mind picking up Camby somehow, who is reportedly getting moved also.

Taylor would have been a good pickup, reducing our rebuilding process to a top center and SF, one of which might turn out to be Cato or someone we could trade him for. Now we'll just have to wait on next years draft picks to finish our rebuilding process, and perhaps a FA PF.

It's still possible we could pick up Jerome Williams or Camby using our exception. I'd love us somehow to get another draft choice for next year out of the exception more than anything else, though.

And I woulnd't mind moving Cato to get Fizer and a draft pick, or Cato, Drew and KT to pick up Kandiman and Maggette somehow. Even though Taylor was the potential big catch for us, I think Houston will still do something before it's done. They always do, even if its at the last minute.

Sure thing. I'd do it. Throw Pig Miller in to help them get over losing Houston, too and I'm sure they'll bite.

Lil Francis: You seem to have a personal grudge against Anderson. Repeat after me: Shandon Anderson is a better player than Cuttino Mobley.

Even if you don't believe that, Anderson is *untouchable*. He was, in all likeliehood, given promises in return for signing under market value. Violate those, and free agents will think twice before signing with the Rockets.

Shandon stays. SO please refrain from including him in your dreamcasting scenarios.

BobFinn - and *only* with a contract clause that gives the team a graduated rebate for every %point his free shooting is under 65%. Looks like Calvin would have a new full-time job.

A. Houston - doesn't fit
JYD Williams - absolutely, is yesterday too soon?
Camby - maybe, but contract is 39m/6years/to 2005

Fizer - I hope not

Has Brad Miller signed anywhere yet?

I know he's not the answer, but is he worth a shot? He played mostly center with Charlotte last year, but he's pretty mobile and could log minutes at the 4 (the presence of Coleman, Mason et al prevented him doing it at Charlotte) - he'd give us a big intimidating presence on the defensive end and he CAN hit jumpers... would be a nice fit....

Miller is a restricted FA like Rashard Lewis was, so Charlotte can match all offers up to 3.9M. Forget him.

I know Charlotte can match all offers, but they don't HAVE to match the offers.. and all reports out of Charlotte are that they don't really want him.

Paul Silas loves Miller. They want him back and will try to keep him.

The Hornets now have Otis Thorpe and Jamaal Magloire. Maybe they think Miller is expendable. Anyone have an idea if he could play some 4? His rebounding # per minute is way better than Taylor's. It also has a built in insurance factor in case Dream can't go the full season.

Gater: Miller is a decent enough rebounder, he averaged about 5 in 17 minutes last season (from memory...) - that's pretty decent. Plus he has a decent outside shot...

UNFORTUNATELY

Francis3 is right, originally I had heard reports that B.Miller was seen as expendable, but I think they came from the mouths of rumour-mongers and not from Charlotte - it seems that for us to get him we'd need to make the Hornets a decent offer. And that's something I don't really think we can do [IMG]

So if the Knicks offered you Allan Houston
for Shanndon Anderson you would turn it down?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME????????????? [IMG] And
just think if Webber came here also the lineup will be:

Cato
Webber
Houston
Mobley
Franchise

I don't have anything against Anderson I just think he won't score more than 12 a game in his career. If we have a shot at
Houston Im all for it. I will drive Anderson to the airport myself. Plus you will have three guys who can average 20 a game Francis,Houston,Mobley. Houston is much better than Anderson to me and thats not saying Anderson is not good.

Anderson has already averaged more than 12 a game over a season once in his career.
That plus the fact that he has upped his numbers every year make me believe he'll average over 12 a game for his career.

If we trade Anderson then our chances of getting FA's to consider Houston in the future drop some.

G PPG RPG APG STL BLK TO
Shandon 82 12.3 4.7 2.9 96 32 194
Houston 82 19.7 3.3 2.7 65 14 186

Shandon plays a better all around game IMHO

Forget about Allan Houston. We already have enough guards. What we need now is a solid PF. What we need now is Jerome Williams. [IMG]
