Not in a million years. To me, that deal is terrible. O'Neal has almost as big a contract as Cato's, and in my opinion his game and work ethic are below even Kelvin's. I wouldn't want this guy for nothing, because he'd tie up too much salary cap space, not even considering moving down from pick 9 to pick 28. That would be an absolutely terrible move by the Rockets. Now if we could change Jermaine O'Neal to Brian Grant, then we might have something.

Yes, I would probably do this trade.
Jermaine O Neal is very young, 21, so he has a lot of time to develop his game. Imagine
the lineup, 2 shot blockers and 3 greyhounds.
Sweet. Plus we still have a number one pick
so we will basically get 2 quality players for one.

We still have more titles than UTAH!!!!!

BigBoy whats going on, where the hell is primetime? Anyways as far as the trade your not the only Oneal fan out there, but I don't know about that trade. We recieve too little for the #9 pick as Oneal has GREAT potential but there is also a big risk because of his contract.

Say whats up to everyone I know in H-town.

I would do the deal since O'Neal has more value than the #9. Could we give Portland's pick to Van., or is their a restriction on how high it can be?

I wouldn't do it. While O'Neal has potential it is not proven and when he is in games doesn't show much. However the main reason I wouldn't make is that you have to include all of the trade exception and I just don't think he is worth it.

If Cato is to be included in another deal for a good PF, then yes.

    If not, then no.

only one overpaid center project at a time. Please.

Wasssssssssssssssssssuuuuuuuuup!!!!!!!! I'm back. Scar, where YOU been? BBMumu, the 28th pick in a not so deep draft. I don't like what we can get at 9, so 28 might leave us with nothing. i agree about the eye for talent in the later picks, but aren't we the same team who passed on Rashard lewis for....Bryce Drew and..... the dude from Turkey? I don't know, I think we are better at luring in free agents and so we should stand pat at #9, or trade down (yes, that will involve Cato), and work on getting a quality impact free agent 3 or 4.

Scar, have you been getting the e-mails from P? I think he loves torturing you. Peace.

There is a reason for this trade. I am rebuilding with an abundance of big men(like Portland did via the Rasheed Wallace trade, Otis Thorpe trade, Oneal draft, and Grant pick-up via free agency) They have cornered the market on big men. I believe that we can play Cato and Oneal together on the floor along with three very quick players in Francis, Anderson, and Cuttino. The oldest player will be 26 which gives them time to gel. Do not underestimate the importance of being on the floor together for a number of years. Defensively we have two shot blockers and our offense will be catered to our guards. Our low post player could be either Anderson, KT off of the bench or either Cato or Oneal(which ever develops into a offensive player.)
The second part of this trade is the late first round pick. I believe that the Rockets have a gift(talent, skill) at picking players late in the first round. I believe that we will get a qulaity pick no matter where we pick.
Oh Yea, some of you wonder if Cato or Oneal will work out. No problem, if they do not work out then there will be takers for them because of their size and their youth. How do I know that? I know that because there are always is.

Actually, if we had a team full of athletic, young players, with some defensive presence inside, I could see this trade being successful. Plus, you're right about the rox ability to draft well in the later parts of the draft. Damn, I agree with you. OUT!
