I recently fractured my wrist when I fell off my bicycle. It hurts like hell and I hate wearing a bag over it when I shower. The only other injuries I've had were breaking my index finger playing football and I never had a splint to help heal it straight so now it's crooked. So if you can name some injuries you have been through that has left a scar or still effects you to this day.
Fell off a bike racing....broke my arm.... while that arm was in a cast, fell out of an el camino and broke my other.... crashed in a shopping cart and broke my nose....(there was one around our neighborhood)....... All happened around the ages of 10....none since
When I was 5 I use to live out in Eagle Pass Texas. I use to be around cows and and all that country stuff..Anyways... this one time i decided to go feed the pigs and this cow that for some reason had horns like a bull to attacked me. Its horns just miss stabbing me dead on but did cut me open on the side like by my rib area ..good thing thats all it did..it just kept me pinned up against some barb wired fence until my uncles got it off me.. Good thing it didn't stomp me or anything ...I remember bleeding a lot and getting a whole bunch of stitches Anyways we had some good barbecue on my 6th birthday..
When I was around 10 I crashed my bicycle into a mailbox and it turned the head of my member purple for about a week and a half and it hurt something awful.
When I was in elementary school, this evil little girl and I got into it about the swings. She ended up wrapping my arm in the chain of the swing and pulling extremely hard. When she did that it pulled the bones of my forearm outwards from my elbow. Not only did they cast my full arm to my wrist, my left arm is now longer than my right. (Not horrifically so or anything.) Oh, and when I was younger than that I fell off a swing set. I cracked my right arm in half like a crayon. My "friends" father told me, after I came in crying from his backyard after it just happened, "Quit your ****ing crying, come here and I'll fix it." Needless to say I didn't play at her house again.
Broke my arm armwrestling at age 19 in the Taco Bell in Dickinson, TX. I was winning, so I had my arm at about a 45-degree angle and when the bone broke, the other guy slammed it all the way in the other direction (that's the point, right?) down to the table. Compound Spiral Fracture. Rushed me to the ER, had a titanium plate put in. Big nasty scar on the front of my bicep all the way down to the top of my forearm. Lasting Effects: - When working out, I can curl a lot but have to go easy on bench pressing. Triceps exercises are out. -Sometimes it aches. Not sure if it's the weather or heat. Incidental Effects: -It's faded over time, but it got me laid. Chicks dig scars. However, it was pretty bright and freaked some women out, so I'm sure it was a wash. -It doesn't set off metal detectors, except hand-held wands.
Football injury: tore my MCL, partially tore my ACL, cracked my meniscus, and sustained two patella fractures all at once. Required two procedures for some reason. Lasting effects: they took part of my hamstring to replace the ligaments in my knee. I used to be able to hit the post from distance with power and accuracy at will. Now if I don't hit the gym to strengthen my leg routinely, I will pull my hamstring with every powerful shot.
When I was 17 I had motorcycle accident and shattered my left femur right under the hip joint. Had 5 operations on it and spent about 2 years on crushes. I have a scar that starts about a third of the way up from my knee and up almost past my left cheek. My left leg is a little bit shorter than my right and I lost some muscle there. I used to limp pretty badly on the left side but rehabbed it enough that I only limp when I am really tired. That was the last time I rode a motorcycle. I've had a lot of joint injuries and I have some limited mobility in my right shoulder.
tore my acl two weeks ago. it was an acute tear so it'll heal on it's own. unfortunately, if i ever want to play any sport that requires a lot of cutting and quick turning, i have to go under the knife.
I dislocated my clavicle like four months ago. I had to have surgery in order to put the bone back in place. They connected my bone back where it went using a heavy thread since I had torn all the ligaments that held it together . So far, I still feel discomfort and since this was my shooting arm, I really can't shoot like I use to for the time being. I'm shooting like Shawn Marion now in order to avoid a lot of pain .
I remember when I was at Kindercare in 4th grade ('88) some kid fell of the end of the metal slide at a bad angle. Somehow his eyelid got cut and he was bleeding from it pretty profusely and obviously screaming like a banshee. Just scared the **** outta me.
I've sprained my ankle twice playing basketball with myself while imagining I'm the Dream. My crossover and pump fakes are so good that I break even my own ankles.
Injuries? I'm a young man; I'm impervious to harm! No breaks, fractures, lacerations, impalements or anything really of note. I think the worst injuries I've sustained were: 1) Bashing my toe really hard and killing the nail (it fell off like a week later) 2) Stabbing myself just under the kneecap with a nail while climbing a fence (didn't even notice it until later that night) 3) Stabbing myself just over my elbow with a broken ceramic coffee mug (only injury I've ever had that actually dripped blood) Along with an assortment of minor scrapes, scratches and maybe two or three mild ankle sprains that kept me from sports for about 2 days.
1. At age 8 or so I was trying to sew myself a leather quiver for my home-made arrows when I put a sewing needle all the way through my thumb. 2. At age 50 I was trying to make a basketball comeback after five years of "retirement." I was getting back on defense and came to a hard stop. My left knew just blew up. I tore the patella tendon off the kneecap and in the process cracked the kneecap into three pieces. The docs put it back together with baling wire. I was told later that part of my kneecap were up into my thigh and had to be re-located.
I had the front joint of one of my toes completely severed as a kid. Hurt like hell, but they were able to reattatch the toe. The nail looks pretty weird, but I have full sensation and movement, so I guess it turned out okay. But that wasn't the worst. My absolute worst injury/pain can be summed up in three simple words: Dual Testicular Torsion I don't recommend it.
