The worst song thread reminded me... what is the worst cover song ever? (that got serious airplay) Counting Crows is trying very hard for this title with "Big Yellow Taxi", though it's still not as awful as Madonna's "American Pie"...
"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by Britney Spears Even for her, that is an incredibly awful song. Yes, it is true, I did have the 2nd Britney album at one time .... But not anymore!
Puff Daddy and the horrible things he did to Kashmir (I believe his version was called "Come to me").
i've never understood why people dislike the american pie remake so much. the original american pie i consider my favorite song of all time, yet i had no problem with the remake. maybe b/c i'm a huge madonna fan and that clouds my judgment but i really liked the beat and feel of the remake.
I don't really like the original, but someone posted an Avril Lavigne version of System of a Down's Toxicity(I think?), and that is quite possibly the worst song ever. Just embarassing.
Her cover of it was terrible. Man, a good cover song is TATU doing How Soon is Now? from the Smiths. That song makes me laugh each time I hear it. Especially this one part The Lyric goes like this When you say it's gonna happen now, When exactly do you mean? see I've already Waited too long and all my hope is gone When one of the girl says "when exactly do you mean?" I just crack up because of that Russian Accent. I am not knocking on her accent, it's just that how it sounds makes me giggle hardcore. The chick with short hair is a hottie.
Remember that group Will to Power (hopefully you don't). Anyway they covered both Freebird (Lynard Skynard) and Baby I Love Your Way (Peter Frampton) in this one-song medly trainwreck that was terrible.... "ooohh Baby I Love Your Way, (I'm as free as a bird now..." Yech!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tiffany cover a Beatles or Lennon song? If I'm right, that would have to be it, if there are any gods of music...
There we go...didn't she later do a Lennon song too? Or was it Debbie Gibson...one of that type anyways...Imagine maybe? Anyways, AB, good call...
