Past and Current The Cleghorn lady was not very funny nor the big chick that player to Sorority girl all the time. Cleghorn was the tallish black lady with the big eyes. I did not fine her funny at all. [The big chick was not Chris Farley in a dress . . it was POST farley] Who stands out to you? Kattan is in the running for me. Rocket River
he does that on purpose too. chris kattan... didn't try to get a movie career and then it didn't work so he came back to saturday night live? that rarely happens.
What's worse is he laughs on purpose to try and get cheap laughs from the audience. Julia Louis Dreyfuss Anthony Michael Hall Robert Downey Jr Pretty much anyone during the Eddie Murphy era besides Eddie Murphy.
Jimmy Fallon sucks bigtime. Cannot stand him. I also did not like Anthony Michael Hall. What the hell were they thinking????
There's a guy on there now that certainly qualifies ... I can never remember his name. Not Seth Myers. He was in that 'Cowbell' skit. Actually I think he was the singer in that skit. Also Jim Breuer.
jimmy fallon is horrible. i have never seen someone screw up their lines and ruin sketches like he has. he is just not funny-a 10 cent adam sandler wanna-be with all his little "songs". his constant laughing throught the "cowbell" skit is the only flaw in one of the greatest snl moments.
There was a blurb in GQ a few months back slamming Fallon for having the worst case of wanna-be rock star syndrome in the history of mankind. The premise of the brief article was that it rang hollow when he mocked pop music idols, because he obviously wanted so badly to be one. Which I happen to think is true. Earth's not big enough for two no-talent assclowns like Fallon and the guy that wrote and/or performed the moronic Coors Light "Wingman" and "Wingdog" commercial jingles.
I haven't watched that show in so long. It used to have some great cast members. The original cast. Then Eddie Murphy. Billy Crystal, Martin Short. I don't know. Tina Fey is the only one on the show who comes up with some decent stuff.
Mad TV is consistantly funnier than SNL is these days. Christopher Walken's guest appearances are still hilarious, though.
admit it, when chris rock was in the cast, he sucked big time. now when he was on his own, thats different. honestly, i think his sense of humor was of a future era.
The current cast is so totally lost out there. The writing is ridiculously bad, as is the delivery, as have been the hosts, as have been the musical guests. The show is dead.
I liked Nat X, or whatever he was called. He had like a 15 minute talk show, 'cause the man wouldn't give him 30.
I think Horatio is the worst. His acting is crap plus he laughs as much as Jimmy. At least Jimmy can act a little bit and play different characters. Horatio essentially always plays the same fat loud obnoxios character...which he does poorly. I think Jimmy and Tina do an great job at the news. They kill Norm MacDonald, Collin Quinn and Dennis Miller. Ever since Murphy, Belushi, Acroyd, Murry, Chase, etc. era has passed, people have bashed SNL saying it is dead But guess what, it ain't dead. They go through phases. They're trying to find the next Chris Farley, Mike Meyers or Will Ferrell.
Norm is the King! He could make anything funny with his delivery. His O.J. jokes were great - that's part of the reason he was fired! There's only so many 'Bush is a moron' jokes I can take ... that's the entire Weekend Update these days.
Dennis used to be the best. Then, Norm came along and he was the best. Jimmy and Tina are okay at best. They can only make it work together. If either had to go it alone, then they would suck. As far as my liking Horatio, it was partly a joke cause...well...he's a fat guy(in a little coat). I do like him as the stoner on the webcam segment. I used to have a friend just like that back in high school and college except his name was Fraggle. Everytime I see that segment I think I'm seeing my old friend. As far as calling what they do acting, I wouldn't call it anything close to that. And, I do believe SNL is dead. That's not to say it cannot be resurrected at some point but I can't remember the last time they didn't have at least one stand out...even when it was going bad before.
SNL goes thru cycles. It's on a down cycle right now. In 3 years, you will all be posting how hilarious it is. Of course, that will be after they fire Jimmy Fallon and he goes on to his next career as a professional cocaine addict.
