If Washington is serious about Jordan, Barkley, and possibly Ewing, Robinson, Stockton,[insert vet name here], then they will need cap space. Im not sure how much the Wiz players make but Houston could take the 1st pick, White, Nesby, whatever the heck they could feed us under the cap for a cheap Rocket player. It would give them cap space and Houston the 1st pick. White is nice, possibly getting one of there nice 2G's for trade bait is nice too. Just something to think about, Im all for Webber though. ------------------ You've got your problems I've got my hash pipe...
And now the unbelievable trade talk has started. When's the draft again? ------------------ I refuse to use smiley's in my posts, you'll just have to figure out how serious I am on your own...
Problems-White is a good eastern conference center, I doubt they'd trade him. What about us? You propose to "cap us out". Would Mo be willing to take the 4.5 exception more from us than somewhere else? Will Shandon settle for early bird from us? Will Hakeem resign? Assuming Griffin starts at 3 or 4, then you can have only Shandon or Mo, as neither would come off the bench. Hope for Hakeem, or else your center slot is left to Cato and Collier. Losing 12 million in cap room, all of our picks, and options we had by holding extra picks, etc. for a guy as volatile as Griffin? Who currently is about 20 pounds under to play PF? Who currently is some speed, ballhandling, and an improved jumper to play SF? Did I mention he's volatile? He punched out 2 teammates for not getting the ball enough. Do you think he's going to get more shots than Mobley and Francis? My magic 8-ball says no. Pass. ------------------ "That's been a lifelong dream of mine." -Vince Carter, after laying it in on a breakaway, much to the Vancouver crowd's displeasure.
I say take it now. Eddie Griffin is the real deal. I don't care if we lose all our draft picks this year or the next and lose our cap space. Griffin is worth it. He would be a better fit, instead of webber. We can just resign Mo, a decent pf. Webber is going to be a big let down if we get him. He's shown that he can't led a team and handle pressure. Everybody by now know that the rocks weakest link is the Sf. Griffin will solve that problem. He has mad D, and led the nation in shot blocking at 4.5 a game. He would be able to control guys like Garnett and Mcgrady, guys who haunt us today. ------------------
pass that stuff over here. Popquiz kids, if you had the #1, what would you do w/ it? Would you package it to trade down for cap space if your team last year won ~16 games or so? Ummmm.... If you were to trade it at all might you trade it for one of the FAs that you're so desperate to pursue w/ that 'cap space'?
lol, trade the number one pick for capspace, lol. u guys crack me up. Cato for the #1 ------------------ snap crackle pop
All of the retirees coming back can sign for the 1 million dollar veterans minimum regardless of cap situation, thus rendering the question moot. ------------------ You can't stick a porcupine in a barn, light it on fire, and expect to get licorice.
