Atlanta takes.... Contrary to my belief Bogut goes #1 so he's off our board. The #2 pick is probably set though i have the feeling Atlanta will trade the pick rather than wait on a freshman. We'll get this one out of the way quick because it gets more interesting starting at #3.
Someone should really start a Mock Draft. I dont want to do the work of starting one but just a fun thought.
Trade down to Charlotte and pick up a PG. Either Paul or Deron Williams should be available. I don't know why they keep saying that they're going to pick Marvin if he's there. They have a boatload of SF and guys that can play SF. What they really need is a PG or C.
Yep . I should have voted 'trade down' in my own poll. It just makes this time killer so much more complicated. But if we get a majority of trade downs we will just move the Bobbies up to to # two.
If they keep the pick, I think they are going to go w/ Paul. They need a PG badly and Paul fits the bill. Plus, ATL is stacked w/ small forwards, Josh Smith, Josh Childress, Al Harrington, even though Williams will most likely be better than all of them, I don't see them picking up another one when their biggest need is a PG and they can have their pick of any PG they want.
I have heard from my buddy in Atlanta that they will take Williams... (and are only working our Paul as a courtesy) even though I think the SHOULD take Paul - in fact they NEED to take Paul - I can't believe the taking heads aren't brow beating them for NOT leaning toward Paul .. of course that may be why they are such a sad frachise...
Paul is the choice that fits the Hawks best, but I think they're caught up in the Marvin Williams hype. Personally, I'm not convinced, but that's just me. They need to either trade the pick or trade one or two of their 3 swingmen (Harrington, Childress, Smith). At the moment, I'm guessing it'll be the latter. If I were GM of the Hawks, I'd be depressed, but I'd put all my efforts into trading the pick to the Bobcats for two first rounders (#5 and either the #13 or next year's number one). Evan
Admitted UNC homer... but I don't really get the hype either. It's all based on potential I guess. Marvin played PF in college, he'll be switching from guarding low post bangers to Tracy McGrady. I'm not sure how well he'll handle it, especially early..
It's all about potential, Williams is still very young. I could really see him becoming an Antwan Jamison type player after he gets use to the league.
