Do you have some sort of Network Connection troubleshooter software? My laptop came with Dell's Wireless Network utility that contains some troubleshooter to test the hardware. Check out the tools that's what she said that came with your PC that's what she said. It could be hardware-related, although if it is just software and your wireless connection on Vista, XP, etc., it should just fix itself upon rebooting. You might want to give some details... so we can help you out... Vista? XP? Dell Laptop, Toshiba?
Go to Network Connections and check the listings there. First have to make sure the Wireless Connection is present and isn't for some reason disabled. If it is, or isn't present, also make sure someone didn't accidentally shut off the manual wireless switch on the laptop.
What model of HP do you have? Normally the manual switch is located on the front of the laptop, 2 inches to the left of the mousepad, then go a bit down until you reach the edge of the notebook. Check there let me know if you find it
ok yeah its on.... i always knew where that was but i figured you were talking about another... like i said i see no wireless connection anymore... how could this happen... also i mention when i go to the command screen and type IPCONFIG it says media disconneted..dont know if that has something to do with it
make sure that the wireless zero configuration service is on start>run>services.msc> look for wireless zero configuration double clik on it and turn it on
go to control panel>system>hardware tab>device manager Then look for network adapters and check if you see anything that read wireless
under network adapter it reads 1394 net adapter nividia nforce networking controller ...nothing about wireless
you need to install the wireless network adapter Go here this is the wireless network drivers for your model http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...n&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3439428 Just install
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. NOTE: After the files are unpacked, the Setup program runs automatically. If the setup program (Setup.exe) needs to be run manually, look for it in the download directory.
