It may not have anything to do with WMC (I have both of those on my Dell XPS desktop).

Your tuner is your video card you use to connect your TV signal/antenna into your PC to watch TV. It must either mean that the PC has lost the connecting drivers to recognize the tuner as a device or that the device is just not there. Get the drivers to your video/tuner card quickly and reinstall, or try the diagnostic program that came with your PC. Alternatively and if the drivers are OK, you may also try to re-seat the card onto the board.

I had that problem with my TV Tuner card a couple of times, but since it happened so long ago, I forgot what I did. I think I only reinstalled the drivers and updated them from Dell's site.

Also, you can try to Capture video from the card in Windows Movie Maker (choose File - Import) and if the device is there, then it's a problem with Media Center.

    Good luck!
