I woke up this morning to go get something out of my car and walked into a surprise. As I open the door I noticed that my passenger window is shattered with a nice size hole in the middle. Obviously someone was trying to steal some of my stuff but thankfully they did not. My alarm must of scared the crook away, since all my valuables were still in the car. Things could of been a lot worse if my alarm was not on....so to all you car modders w/o alarms...GET ONE ASAP!!

I don't think just any car alarm will work. You need one with sensors that respond to glass breakage. A lot of car alarms wouldn't even go off if the glass were broken.

Don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle and people won't smash your window.

Exactly. Its simple as that. Even if you do decide to leave something valuable in your car, put it where it can't be seen. I always hear about people getting their GPS system stolen. More than often its was laying out in the open where everyone can see. That's like easy candy to these theives.

I experienced this several times in my life and it is always such a pain in the ass. Having your stereo/ etc. stolen is bad enough, but getting the damn window replaced/ tinted is a complete time consuming annoyance.

Unfortunately this isn't always true - out of the 4 times this has happened to one of my cars only once did I have anything 'out' in view and stolen. By out I mean the stereo in the dash - sometimes the thieves are just hoping they find something in the glove box or trunk.

True, but its just the best way to avoid your car getting broken into. Plenty of other things factor in as well like your type of car, where you parked, ect. I don't know from experience but the easiest cars to break into are the most common ones like Civics, Accords, Camry, and the likes.

Oh, absolutely -- sometimes it's just bad luck or being in a bad spot at the wrong time.

I like how some posters are blaming the owner for this robbery  . I guess I should just remove my factory GPS, shift knob, engine, and everything valuable. That way if they want to steal something, they will have to steal the body of the car.

I think you should set up a car so that it explodes when the window is busted. You'll really catch the thief that way!

Re-examining the OPs pictures, I must say you have nice windows. They are shatter resistant!
