I was thinking about all the talk about when we go small. I was thinking, will we ever go big. I cant really think of any good reasons to do this but I wonder if we will ever put out a lineup like

    C:Cato
    PF:Collier
    SF:Taylor
    SG:Rice
    PG:Francis.

Again i have no idea why we would do this but it could present some interesting matchups.

I think it would work better if you switch Collier and Cato. I think Cato being the more atheletic would be more effient defending at PF than the new heavier Collier. We would definitely be one of the bigger lineups in the league however we would also have one of the smallest benches too. If we play maybe the Jazz or Spurs I think it would work. Interesting thought.

At 283 lbs, Colly may very well be a dud! Better to stick with ur lightnin' quick, hot-shooting guards who can actually move their butts to play!

This lineup only happens if we don't resign Moochie, and Cuttino needs a breather. Seldom.

    Hmmm....

    C:Cato
    PF:Collier
    SF:Taylor
    SG:Rice
    PG:Francis

    Then...

    C Robinson
    PF Parks
    SF Duncan
    SG Smith
    PG Daniels

OOOHH, if I were Rudy I'd actually be salivating over this lineup and counter with:

C - Mo (To pull Robinson out, hope Mo can at least contend on boards)
PF - Eddie (Time to build up Eddie's confidence!, this is where the Rocks gain a rebounding edge)
SF - Rice (Will definitely pull Duncan out)
SG - Mobley (Mobley's quicks vs. Smith's size, I'll go with Mobley here, if Smith's hot insert Morris)
PG - Francis (Actually, a pretty good matchup, Daniels is pretty athletic and plays solid D, but I'll still go with Steve)

I was thinking of a similar big line-up; not as big, but faster:

    Francis
    Rice
    Griffin
    Taylor
    Cato

Francis has decent size for a PG, and then everyone else on the floor is from 6'8" to 6'11" (all NBA heights, of course). Plus, they can all run.

Look I'm as big a Rockets fanatic as you will find, but that is a trip to the butcher shop for the Rockets, and a good time for the Spurs. I think the backcourt would be in the Rockets favor because I like The combo of Rice and Francis over the combo of Smith and Daniels. After that, it's a nightmare. On paper. Mo would kill Cherokee Parks, Cato usually does a decent job on Duncan, but it's freaking TIM DUNCAN here, and Collier may be a lean, mean, brickhouse machine after hitting the gym, but David Robinson has been a musclebound freak for well over a decade. I say stick to speed against the likes of the Spurs and Lakers.

Then Pop salivates and goes with:

    C Robinson
    PF Duncan
    SF Smith
    SG SJackson
    PG Daniels

No, even Mo will need a rest. In certain instances and for brief periods when Mo comes out, we should go with Collier in the center, Cato as the PF, Griffin as the SF, Mobley or Morris at the two, and Steve at the point, i.e. two quick guys and three big and tall guys.

    How about...

    Cato
    Taylor
    Griffin
    Rice
    Langhi at the 1 :D

I know, but this would be probably the best big line up the Rockets can go with.

Actually, I think the Spurs' best lineup, by year's end, will be:

    C - Robinson
    PF - Duncan
    SF - Smith
    SG - Daniels
    PG - Parker

which is pretty nice, but I actually feel confident that a Rocket lineup of:

C - Cato (please grow up this year!)
PF - Taylor (vows to start rebounding, we'll see)
    SF - Rice
    SG - Mobley
    PG - Francis

matches up pretty well, assuming Cato comes to the party.
