He is a some what good shooter, good scorer, and work very hard. His defense is not the best out there but he is very reliable in both ends.
He has been playing like this for almost every team he has played for, but for some reason he has been bouncing around and became the biggest journey man in the history of man kind. So my question is.. do you see Jim Jackson with Rockets next year?

He signed a 3 year deal.

He was under a 1-yr deal w/ Sactown.

This guy's been a total God send. Hopefully his role will be reduced, but I can't see us letting him go, he's been far too good for us.

He signed a three-year deal, and he's been a solid contributor to the team. So unless he's packaged in the Francis trade everybody was talking about, ;) I don't see the Rockets letting him go.

Next Season he would be a better fit at the two Guard, he isnt tall enough for Small Forward,

Then would you move Mobley to the 3?

I would be nothing short of thrilled to see Jim Jackson end his NBA career right here in Houston.

Agreed! I havent appreciated a role player's hard work more with Jim Jackson this season since the Mario Elie days. JJ is a solid player and a great TEAM player. Looking forward to seeing him her threw the end of his contract!

Should have kept Posey. Jackson has done a great job but if they had re-signed Posey, signed JJ, and brought Mobley off the bench then it would have been a true conending team.

The would of, could of, should of, scenarios.

I agree with e-z about all this. Ever since the season started, Jim(my) has been the best catalyst, clutch shooter this team has seen since Mario Ellie. See my signature, please.

 He's a total God-send but you want his role reduced? Does that sound a little contradictory to you?

And everyone, please please please let the Posey thing go.

Posey would have been better....hard to believe we let KT and Posey go for nothing.

    Amen, my brother.

JJ signed a three-year contract with an opt-out after the second year.

I would think we will aim for more size at the 3 in the offseason (through some sort of trade, or maybe SA won't be able to re-sign Turkoglu).

I agree but not at the money Posey was offered by Memphis.

As for KT, there was no way he and EG was going to work together and there no way you could have predicted that EG was going to go completely whacko.

He has a player opt-out? Hey, I didn't know that. I agree that the guy is terrific and exactly what we needed. I wish we could play him at the 2 and bring Mobes in as 6th man. That'd be awesome. (Cat might not think so!)

Keep JJ.....there really should be no argument there. I think we all know how solid he's been, and I somewhat disagree that his defense is suspect. I think he's been an admirable defender at the 3 and the 2. He hits big shots, he plays very hard, he's stepped up and been a leader when needed. He rebounds fairly well also. What's not to like? He fits. He plays his role, and does it well.

I don't care if we go with a "taller" SF or not....but I think we keep JJ.

I think he may mean that while he's been awesome for our team, you're team may not be going anywhere when someone like Jim Jackson is one of the main spots in your team. I think at this point in his career, JJ can be one of, if not the best role player in the game. However, to count on him to lead your team some nights isn't a good thing.

Not sure I agree with that, but I think that may be what he meant.

Oh, and I completely agree about the Posey thing. Get over it people.
