Jordan Hill has obviously shown that he has potential in these last few games. Keep in mind that this only came about cause David Andersen went down. In my opinion we should keep Hill in the rotation because he has upside where as Andersen has shown his potential and i think he has already hit the ceiling(honestly i just find Hills game more exciting than Andersens) . Keep Hill in the lineup and develop him as much as possible before the season ends. Thoughts?
Whats up with the Hill love as of late? I hope he takes some Jeffries minutes, that guy is pretty lame. Hill has done well but I am far from sold on him.
I think Rick Adelman loves him. Jordan Hill seems to have a great, natural feel for the game. If he can continue to play smart, sprint the floor, and rebound, he will get all the minutes he can handle. With rookies, the question is, how long until he has a little mental breakdown. It happened with Kobe, Lebron and all the greats. Personally, I think he should be starting over Chuck Hayes. His defense on Blatche was VERY impressive last night. We should be in FULL development mode...
I see no reason why Hill can't continue to get 15-20mpg. Hayes and Andersen can switch depending on matchups. Hill can take the rest of the minutes. I believe Adelman was going to play Hill sooner or later regardless of DA's injury. The only reason Hill has not been getting time is because he's too raw to be thrown into the fire so quickly. Whereas a player like Jeffries is experienced enough to fit in immediately. But in the long run, Morey and Adelman recognizes the value of developing potential.
yes, if andersen is still in the rotation i expect his and jeffries and possibly hayes minutes to all be reduced to give hill his due.
if RAs smart he'd keep playin Hill and not DA hes soft his skills arent that grteat i dont get wat the hype about DA is he sucks, plain and simple.. he has like 1 game a week where he scores ONE post move, whoop-dee-dam-doo.. increase Hills minutes RA! its not like the seasons not a wash
I think Hill gets the minutes when Andersen returns. I think I remember reading that Hill was doing quite well in practice so it wouldn't surprise me if the coaching staff was looking for an excuse to plug him into the lineup. I'm beginning to wonder if Andersen's injury wasn't exaggerated. Seems like a coincidence that a injury free guy suddenly can't even suit up shortly after the Rockets land another backup big man who can play Center.
I think we all just so desperately want him to be a steal so we over analyze and over applaud anything positive he does.
No BULL$#!%* PUT THAT TRASH ON THE BENCH WHERE HE NEED TO BE,MOREY NEED TO GO AHEAD PACKAGE HIM WITH ONE OF THOSE DRAFT PICKS AN SHIP HIS TRASH A?@# OUT OF H-TOWN
I think he might be paired with Andersen like Landry was. http://basketballvalue.com/player.php?year=2009-2010&id=667&sortnumber=17&sortorder=DESC Unlike Landry Hill seems to be do quite well alongside Scola. So, Hayes and Jeffries might see their minutes reduced?
The idea would be to have Hill take over Landry's role. Andersen's on the floor for spacing. Jeffries would just get in the way and crowd the paint.
Hill and Andersen would probably work pretty well on court together in limited minutes. You put them out there with Ariza, Martin and Lowry, and the big guys with their outside shot open up the driving lanes for those 3 to attack the rim. Having said that, I'm all for Hill playing many more minutes than Andersen. But I think Jeffries will probably lose minutes - he'll be the "situational" minutes guy - only when we desperately need frontcourt defensive length. Andersen is more a 10mpg kind of guy - poor defender who hits the outside shot. Kind of like the bigger, better rebounding, better defending version of Matt Bullard, but with a worse outside shot. (odd description...)
Jeffries is 14/33 (42%) on long mid-range 2s this season, and 20/65 (31%) on 3s. Andersen is 38/87 (44%) on long mid-range 2s, and 25/74 (34%) on 3s. Jeffries may not be the shooter than Andersen is, but is it that much of a drop-off to justify giving Andersen minutes over him? Jeffries is a far better defender.
