    Actually, since I rent a car whenever I go to Houston, I probably "helped build" the stadiums more than you did.

    So what happens when every city with pro-sports teams adopts this philosophy? Do all the teams become winners?

    The point you wish to make contradicts itself by your own examples....

    you said Boston was a winner's town. I promise you the Red Sox didn't become winners because the fans decided to stop going when they were losing...because they didn't stop going when they were losing.

    Ultimately this is entertainment...spend your buck as you will. But it's easy to bandwagon...and I found watching the Rockets win titles in 94 and 95 was particularly satisfying given I had been with them when they had been at their lows. The Astros are my team because I grew up with them here...because they're connected to me as a life-long Houstonian. The idea of simply turning them off or not buying tickets to somehow spur them on to winning is foreign and illogical to me. Because I still enjoy going to games with my kids.
