Is this just a justification of having Yao in the team? Or is it just rhetorical thing in the league? Playoff, big deal... Even if they get to the playoff, they're going to get their butt kicked in 4 games out of 7. What experience will they conceivably get? If the team is going to a big roster change in the offseason, this experience is going to stay with the team! Can someone please explain?
you know nothing about the NBA. unlike any other sport, the NBA is "two seasons." It is played that way, and you cannot ever win a ring until you have experienced it in multiple seasons...unless you are Magic Johnson or Larry Bird. <size="1">and* no* one* say* Duncan's* Year*...he* was* the* booster* rocket* to* a* winning* franchise*.</size>
The play-offs represent a whole different type of ball. The play-offs would give the Rockets experience that they can't get in the regular season. The play-offs allows me to watch the Rockets play at least 4 more games (maybe more) before the team goes back into hibernation. Getting to the play-offs is the first goal you have to reach before you become a championship caliber team. If the only thing you are interested in is winnning championships then I would have to question your love for the game or the Rockets.
