Rockets down 3 at the half to the Cavs. Lebron hits 2 threes in a row where down 9 time for a timeout right????

It was pretty obvious at that point that the Cavs were about to pull off and they did Mo WIlliams hits 2 more three game effectively over, then RA calls the T.O

Then to top it off David Anderson gets back in the game before Landry does. Great move RA put our best player back in the game with 2 minutes left in the third when the game was already over.

The solution was simple, when Lebron hit the back to back threes call a T.O put Landry back in the game and lets go.

Im not saying we would of won the game for sure but we would of at least had a chance

Monday Morning Quarterbacking at its finest. You're telling me that you expected the Cavaliers to go out on a massive 3-point shooting beserk fest? Really? I'm sure Rick wanted the players to play through this in the way that Phil does, he didn't expect the Cavs to go nuts, and he wanted to save Landry for the 4th quarter.
    That simple.

What a shock another RA apologist. Are you aware of momentum, did you watch the game? Im sure alot of people were able to notice that the Cavaliers were about to explode. This game was not decided in the 4th the pivotal moments in the game happened in the 3rd. Its kinda messed up when your team gets blown away and your best player does not even have a chance to effect the outcome. So i guess you also agree that David Anderson should of came in before Landry in the third

One problem I have with RA is that he tries to let the players play through a bad spell that he doesn't call a timeout until the other team has run off 12 in a row. I'd at least like it better if he would call a timeout before we lost the lead.

Ya hopefully one day I can be a true veteran of clutch fans like you and master this complex forum. I used paragraphs because i was tired of all these idiots, who were more interested in my writing style then my opinions on the rockets

Apologist? Sure, you can call me that, as I would argue that he is possibly the best coach we have ever had (yes, better than Rudy).
Adelman wanted the guys to play through the run, similar to what you see Phil do over and over again. The game was overall not a life or death must win scenario so he wanted to see if the players could fight back as they have time and time again. And no, I did not expect the Cavaliers to become a ridiculous monster from beyond the arc?

And sending in Andersen? I'll admit I didn't like it as I would have sent in Hayes, but I get the logic. He wanted to save Landry for the fourth, and Hayes already had 3 fouls, so Andersen was sent in. Don't like it, but an understandable move.

As I've already said, it's something that you see Phil do over and over agin. I guess both of them don't want to panic needlessly and want to have their guys develop and play through tough stretches.

I understand giving the players a chance to play through it because they often do play through it, but 12 pts in a row seems a bit much to withstand. Like I said, at least don't wait until after the lead has already been lost.

We will have to agree to disagree. We were down by at least 15 points when he put Anderen in instead of Landry at that point it was around the 6 minute mark of the third and when your down 15 you cant save somebody for the 4th at that point.

Yeah, Rick is a pretty terrible coach.

Even Vinny Del Negro could have seen that Mo was about hit back-to-back contested threes.

Ok RA apologist his zero rings indicate that he is such an amazing coach. Be honest you really did not have the feeling that after Lebron hit those two treys in a row that the cavs were about to go on a huge run. You can honestly say that you had no clue that the cavs were about to roll. Oh yeah and I guess you think Landry should of came in the game at the 2 minute mark in the third as well. Down 15 points na its not time for our vest player lets go ahead and bring in Anderson

It is possible, he figured Andersen's 3 point shooting ability might help spread the court. Although on the real, Landry wasn't exactly tearing it up out there either way so it is a mute point. The Cavs defense was just ready and their offense was finally clicking on enough cylinders that the Rockets couldn't contain it.

Answer : Adelman is poor at making substitutions. this has been noted by many over the last couple of seasons :p
