... a package to Seattle for Patterson? He has to be pissed that even after a breakthrough season Rashard is going to get the minutes and has gotten the money from Seattle. Patterson is just what we need at the three: he is athletic, an above average defensive player (Kobe stopper), and he is young (24?). So how about we trade a pick and part of the exception for him? Or even better Walt and a pick for Patterson and Oyediji? Walt would fit well in Seattle and we would have the player we wanted to draft (or we here wanted) and a good role player at the 3.

    NugzFan,

Part of the reason is that the Rocks only have 14 players under contract....Francis, Shandon, Cat, Dream, Cato, and Mo aren't going anywhere. Neither are Collier and Langhi because they can't be traded until Dec. 15. That's over half the team.

Take out Walt and KT because both were starters last year. Take out the Mooch as a quality backup who had a terrific RMR. That's 11 of 14 contracts. All that's left is Bull, 'Los, and Drew.

This is unlike the Nuggets who have 9 players out of 15 on the roster who avg'd 8.6 ppg or less last season. You just have so many more players to work with than we do!!

Oh, yes. I almost forgot. Our No.1 "scrub", Carlos Rogers averaged more ppg than 7 of 15 players on this years Nuggets roster!

I guess it bothers me cuz you seem to be using a condescending tone. "You guys always offer your scrubs for everyone...." I am prolly looking way too much into this, but you may be insulting UT's intelligence ?

This is a Rocket board again. You are welcome to post here of course (not that I have a right to decide otherwise).

Who do the Nuggets even have right now other than McDyess/Van Exel? Man, I think if they just brought back Schayes, Rasmussen, Hanzlik, Lever, Adams, and English, they'd have a better squad right now. Even those old guys would school the current Nugz.

    All that said,
    the guy is right,
people on this board are always offering our scrubs for good players. It wont happen. These outsiders are always attacked here yet usually, the bulls virgin from macedonia being the exception, oh, and that guy skypilot a while back really got on my nerves, but they usually offer a more constructive, objective opinion.

why are these trade senerios so unbelievable. good players are traded for scrubs all the time for various reasons. we've been the benifactor of a few...scottie pippen, steve francis and the current trade of Ewing for Rice seems a bit lope sided as well. Bryce Drew was a first round draft pick with an espy award, he has value, with the right team. teams may want to downgrade his value, but look no further than the current Joe Smith situation.

I would hardly call Dickerson and Othella "scrubs". But I still do agree that we got the superstar, Vancouver did not do too badly either. And who would benefit more from the Ewing and Rice deal. I mean no one team can say they ripped off the other team. Seems like a good trade to me.

If Walt's included in the deal, along with Los and Drew, I think the Sonics would do it....they'd be adding depth all over, a great back-up for Rashard, someone to replace the iminnent departure of Ho grant, cause Ho also played PF, and Ewing will only play C, so Los is also a great back up, and drew is just a throw in, his contract ends next year, but I don't think they'll be jumpin in joy for the 1 million from Drew's contract next year....anyway, basically what they would be doing is trading one above average starter, for three average starters......I don't think it would be in anyone's favour.......

Patterson makes a little more than Drew and slightly more than HALF of 'Los. The numbers just don't match. Add Walt's $4M-$5M and it's a real mismatch. The Rocks would have to take on some other contracts and/or get involved in the Ewing trade.

I dislike the word "scrub" but as I recall Carr and Price were part of the Francis trade. Trades need all sorts of $ and skill levels to be performed.

gater: you act like you HAVE to trade. ya got nothing to trade? ya just dont! i also liked that carlos rogers point (it almost meant something). but i liked it none the less.

    gr8-1: im not insulting UT's intellgence...im insulting francis3's [IMG]

pippendagimp: actually nve is a headcase and mcdyess is overrated. were shooting for 12 wins (11 wins would just be way to sorry for even the nuggets to ever sink that low to). but you got some really good points that if youd like, we can talk more in detail about later.

and btw my second comment was a joke.

Nugz- I dont think that my proposal was that outlandish. Walt would give them another veteran who can drain the 3 off of GPs penetration and if Baker is back than Walt would fit in perfectly. The first proposal makes even more sense (exeption plus pick for RP) for Seattle, giving them cap space and a pick in a deep draft. So dont lump this idea in with the Cato for Duncan straight up kind of ideas others have posted (no offense)

There's such a thing as too many offseason moves. I would have thought some of you would have learned your lesson by now.
