He's supposed to be the X's and O's mastermind behind the Nets.

And bringing in Jordan doesn't just bring in Carril's O (most recently popularized by Sac-town), it could bring in Jason Kidd as well.

A proven O, a gritty D, ability to groom and fit rookies into system, respect by a vet All-World PG, plus some long term stability (this is likely the only thing that Brown cannot bring).

Jordan can even bring in some of Carril's proteges from Princeton who are even more knowledgeable about the offense (e.g. Bill Carmody, Joe Scott, John Thompson).

If Houston is going to keep the same underachieving self absorbed players then Brown seems to be the best one to bloody his head against theirs (altho it seems that Brown ran into a harder head than his in Philly).

It may be best to start fresh. Fresh coach, fresh philosophy, fresh faces.

Keep Yao, get rid of everyone else.

A 3 trade deal w/ the Nets and Detroit may be the way to go.

Deal Francis back to East (or at least the NBA East). Send him & Mo Taylor to Detroit for their first pick (no. 2 overall), Rip Hamilton and their 2nd (this draft and maybe the next).

Detroit sends Chauncey Billups to the Nets.

Nets send Jason Kidd to Houston in a sign and trade.

Nets send Dikembe Mutumbo to Detroit.

Houston sends Cuttino Mobley, Kelvin Cato and next year's first rounder to the Nets.

I know that it doesn't sound like much for Jason Kidd, but the Nets could end up w/nothing if Kidd just signs (albeit for less) w/Houston.

Sign Alonzo Mourning, maybe even re-sign Posey.

The roster could look like this:

    PG - Jason Kidd
    SG - Rip Hamilton
    SF - James Posey
    PG - Darko Milicic
    C - Yao Ming

    bench:

    Alonzo Mourning
    Boki Nachbar
Boris Diaw & Leandrho Barbosa (trade EGriffin to a team w/2 mid/late firsts)
