T-Mac needs changing himself or to be traded.

I thought the major weak side is Alston, I was wrong. Alston played good while T-Mac was not on the court this season.

I thought we don't have good role players, I was wrong. In this season we have good players and good coach, and we are still struggling?

I thought we would be dangerous this season, I am wrong. Now we are looking for a playoff spot?

After years and years failure to go deep in the playoffs, I keep thinking what was wrong with this team. I thought the biggest problem in the last 3 years was on JVG, he designed game plan to use a actually 2-man team to against 5-man team. Now I really realized the biggest issue is not from coach, not from role players. It is T-Mac.

He is selfish. He controls the ball like a PG, why we need Alston anyway if his duty is not PG? do we want to play Alston as SG? T-Mac is selfish because he takes one shot after another at low FG%, never stop. Even he admitted he was not 100%, he could bravely took 24 shots, or 30% of the team FGA at 41% of FG. Actually I don't think T-Mac cares about those shotting chances because he knew he has the freedom to shot more. You might argue T-Mac has assists. True. The question is: Did T-Mac have more assists than Steve Nash? did T-Mac have higher FG% than Steve Nash? Did T-Mac take more shots? I don't see the basic logic here to say T-Mac is an unselfish player with so many shots at low FG%.

Looked at the stats in this league, all top 10 shot-taking players have their team struggling. Not a single player in the top teams takes more than 17 shots per game. If we don't have the same common characteristics as those top teams, then we are not one of the top teams. T-Mac is 44% so far this season, and the team is 44.3%. It needs to be pointed out that the current 44% FG is the highest FG% T-Mac could have since he come to Houston. To be a good team, we need T-Mac to take 15 shots or less per game with his current FG% or he manages to improve his FG%, which I don't believe that will happen any time soon.

I do enjoy his 13 points show. However, that doesn't make the team better. That only proves T-Mac has the talent and potential to be real great. It is just ridiculous now to talk about potential after T-Mac played 11 years in NBA.

I really believe it is time now to make change. Either T-Mac takes less shots to improve his efficiency, or the team needs a trade to keep the hope for this season. We do that or we are done for this season.

Any T-Mac fans are welcome to jump in. I was a T-Mac fan, just lost my faith on him. Please be objective to use data to support you.

We talked about this ad nauseum about how him coming back, he needed to adopt and move without the ball, it ain't happening.

Too much Tmac = first round playoff loss....

    Team ball = salvation.

However, I think last night was an aberation, I do think you take away one of your best TEAM ball players in Yao Ming and the team will struggle.

Let's get them both healthy for about 10 games and see how they do.

Changing how you play takes time, and Tmac is so talented he should get that time.

Right, I thought our chance is 50-60% against Jazz. I really didn't expect a win without Yao. It is painful to realize how many shoots T-Mac took.

TMAC's problem is that he is trying to do too much (only on offense) for the team. He is unselfish, but he is not a team player when he feels "it's all on me".

TMAC is as overrated as Kidd and Rafer.

The playmaking is overrated when the playmaker can not shoot at a good percentage or is not a team player.

We need someone who can play both offense and defense at star level. If TMAC can get us that, it is time .....

the YOF's are gonna pile up in this thread like stink on $hit :p

Yeah, Tmac had a bad game...he tried to do too much. he probably felt that he had to with Yao out. He also got 9 assists and probably would have had 13 or 14 if people would have hit more wide open shots.

It's funny...he plays pretty much within the system and we rip off a 4 game winning streak, then Yao goes out and we lose to a good Utah team and it's all Tmac's fault that we lost.

I think our winning streak showed us what we can do with TMac and Yao out there.

Oh, and as far as yesterday, free throws and blown defensive assignments lost that game, not McGrady

Could he better on the defensive end? Of course. Also, Utah is a very tough team to just drive to the hoop against considering they have a front line of Boozer, Okur and AK47

The problem is tmac is a streaky shooter. You cannot expect him shoot 45% by just taking 10-12 shots. We have seen so often he would go 1/10 in the first half, and then 7/10 the second. Do we want this type of player?

Blake, I wasn't particularly talking about this single game, I was talking about this season and the whole 4 seasons that T-Mac played here. YOF? no, don't talk with me about them.

Watching last night's game, I was so pumped about our team despites missing Yao. I see a very bright future for us if Alderman continues to play the rookies + Novak, you can just imagine if opponents double or triple teamed Yao and Novak is left wide open...

The only bads I saw was Rafer still a liability when it comes to shooting and Tmac went crazy with all those jump shots.

If we can somehow trade for another point guard to limit Rafer's minute and get Tmac to buy into the system, the sky is the limit!

McGrady off the bench, trade a few guards for Sczerbiak !! Make McGrady work for his spot at SG / SF and play more within the system.

I totally agree but i believe the real issue is that T-Mac has to market himself so that he can sale his shoes and get his other endorsements that is why he shoots as much as he does whether it goes in or not. That is why he is so selfish and is NOT a good fit for this team i believe the rest of the team is willing to give up their game to for the benefit of the team. I am sick of you Tracy McGrady defenders out there you make me sick defending him every game. There is an excuse for every game. The problem is that we as rocket fans view him in the same light as a Lebron, Duncan, Ginobolli, Garnett, Kobi, Wade, Arenas, & Nash. He is none of these guys and ask yourself who would you rather have McGrady or any of these guys. Face it he sucks and I would trade him in a heart beat for Wade for T-Mac. At least Wade not a 100% either plays defense and can score and oh yeah by the way is a leader too..........
