Not at all. What you are totally missing is that there is a huge, huge, huge difference between "blame" and "not ready yet". Did someone "blame" Hakeem or Ralph when they didn't win a championship in the 80's? Who was to "blame" when Jordan didn't when a ring until he was in the NBA for 7 years?

Luck? After watching the Finley robbery of Jon Barry I surely hope you are not going to try tell us that luck is not a relevant factor. Hell...we're lucky that unrestricted FA Tracy McGrady wanted to play in Houston next to Yao and Weisbrod was a jerk enough to let him slip away. More "luck"...Juwan Howard's injury and heart infection just as his shot returned to money like it's been most of his career.

We are what we are...a team in it's embryonic state with obvious weaknesses. If there is any postive that we can take from a 40 point drubbing it can be distilled to it's essence in one simple thought....the Mavs have won no fewer than 52 games over the past 5 seasons....they have better role players...they have absolutely no answer for McGrady and a focused Yao.

Do we need to improve our roster? Without question. Do we need to "blame" someone? Only if we're so focused on 1 game that we lose focus of the bigger picture.

les alexander is businessman first and foremost thus making money is always his priority. however, winning=money he just needs to take a gamble and pay for a decent power forward.

Irregardless makes the dictionary as slang.

It is a pimped up double negative in a single word which is why it draws ire.

Hell "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" has a f'ing double negative in it though not in the same word.

This thread isn't really needed because it's obvious that we need a better supporting cast.

Spurs is among the lowest paying teams in the league, while Knicks among the highest. sometimes it's just not about how much you spend, it's about how smart you spend. expensive players may not be the right players, like we all saw what happened to this year's t-wolves

if you have to blame someone, let's blame the freaking refs and their master mr. stern. There is no one to blame in the rox organization, they've done a decent job this year putting a team togethe in the fly.

The use of "on the fly" is very descriptive of the problem. Doing things "on the fly" is better than doing nothing when there is a problem but it is not the desired motivation either.

Look at the three-year history of talent acquisition and you see a large gap between the Mavs and the Rockets.

    It Takes Time

Dallas had so many years of disappointments getting bounced in the first and second rounds with Finley in his prime. They kept trying to upgrade their roster but never did much with it and in the end even lost Steve Nash in the offseason to free agency. The Rox sit in a pretty place. Anybody who's remotely competitive in the league and looking at free agency will WANT TO PLAY for us. What other team can offer a dominant center and a league champion scorer on the same team? I think we'll make a couple good pick-ups this offseason that will help us tremendously. We're far from peaking.

    :p

But if he got the right picks, we wouldn't have got Yao and then TMac.
