neither is good, but Sura would be the better of the 2, cause he's taller......

Sura isn't much of a pure shooter, but he can hit the open 3 once in awhile.

In the title, you ask who is the better shooter, but in the post itself, you ask who is the better shooting guard. Those are two competely different questions.

James is hands down the better shooter. I don't think there's any question about this. But in terms of a shooting guard, Sura is defensively better at guarding twos because of his additional size.

Sura is more of a combo guard with some PG skills, and some SG skills. James is your classic SG in a PG's body.

Your title is flawed. Who is the better shooter when in your message you say who is the better 2? Those are 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. MJ = better shooter, Sura = Better rebounding, assists, taller etc..

you've got like 3 different questions..

    1) the title asks who's the better shooter

    2) then you message asks is Sura a better shooting guard

    3) or is James the better shooter guard

and is there such a thing as shooter guard?.. does that means he can be either a point guard or shooting guard as long as he's a shooter as well.. or that means he guards (defends) the shooter from the opposing team..

James is a point guard, Sura is a point guard, James can shoot much better than sura and that isn't saying much.

Sura is a better all around player than James though.

Neither are what I would consider to be "shooters" in the true sense of the term.

I think Sura is the better shooter of the two.

I think James is the better scorer and penetrator of the two.

James is a better 3 point shooter (when he is hot)

Sura is a better penetrator and can defend Shooting Guards better (taller)

Lets let their career numbers speak for themselves....

    Sura
    FG%- .414 3pt%- .325

    James
    FG%- .411 3pt%- .356

Pretty close race between the tortoise and the hare, although Sura has like twice as many attempts in each category as James...

I'd say Sura is the more consistent shooter. James is pretty streaky. But if you're relying on these guys to be your outside threat, you have problems.

Is Sura a better shooting guard or is James the better shooter guard.

Jennifer Hyatte is a better "shooter guard" than either of them.

Their career FG% are nearly identical. Sura at 41.4...James at 41.1.

James shoots better from the 3ball stripe...35.6 to 32.5.

Sura leads in hair gel. And in the MadMax Hall of Fame voting.

I voted Sura, when I thought he was the better all-around shooting guard.

James is the better shooter, though.
