Who really needs Jason Kidd? Yeah Kidd is a good point. He can dish and see the floor and score occasionally. He is still a suspect shooter in my eyes at least. I mean the Spurs are looking at getting Kidd, the Mavs all of a sudden are looking at Kidd. This makes no sense! The Spurs just won an NBA Championship with Parker and Speedy Claxton and the Mavs have a good point despite being Canadian in Nash who can see the floor, dish and in my eyes, he is a better scorer. Just my thoughts...what do you all think??

The Rockets. Yao is such a high percentage scorer aroung the basket, Kidd would be able to feed him all day. And Posey and Cat would be huge beneficiaries of his fast breaking skills. Even Eddie might flourish.

Personally...I like Stevie at the point. He is a creator. Yeah he scores alot but that is just his nature. We arent even in these dicussions so I was really talking about those teams involved in these dicussions. All we need is a legit back-up point and a real power forward (ie...J O'Neal). Plus, yes Yao can score and I believe he will be a brighter part of our offense this coming year. But...right now, Stevie is our scorer. I keep Stevie.

A True PG in this league is about as rare as a True Center..these days..and Kidd is a true PG!

I would say either of those teams would greatly benefit. Nash is great, but he just tends to disappear in some big games. He isn't very athletically gifted, so he is not going to dominate his man one on one. He will never be "the man."

And San Antonio will be a nightmare with Kidd. But they don't have a limited budget, and Duncan said he wants O'Neil.

The bottom line is Kidd is truly great, and no matter what team he goes to, that team will improve. That's the definition of a great player.

yeah, but without kidd, the nets were absolutley nothing. kidd is a great player, one of the best in the league. he is the definition of "most valuable player". put marbury back on the nets without jason and the nets are back to sucking.

as for vc being the mosty hyped player thats not that great, lets try lebron james. he can beat high schoolers. congrats. he hasnt done anything in the nba yet.

it doesn't matter if true PG's are as rare as true Centers in this leauge

true PG's don't bring your team the rings, and big men dominate the game

yes, he can pass, see the floor, play the break and make the team alot better, but who cares if his O isn't good enough to break down defenses and who cares especially if his D lets tony parker burn him every time

not overrated, but overvalued... i'd pay brand more

I think he's the best PG in the game, because what the Nits do before they got JKidd? Nothing. I think that with most of the big men in the NBA being the worst form of stiffs like:

good ole Yinka Dare, guard play rules the game of today. I don't mind a scoring point like Stevie Franchise, but I wish he'd dish more to Yao. JKidd has made a difference on the Nets squad, but would he on the Spurs? I don't think he'd make that much of a difference. For starters, he can't shoot as well as some of the other points and I think he would not thrive in the half-court attack favored by the Spurs. I think they should stick with a tandem of Speedy and the quick little Frenchman and get a big man, preferrably Jermaine O' Neal in free-agency.

I think Kidd is the best PG in the league, so a lot of teams should want him.

The spurs, however, did expose his weakness, or rather limit his effectiveness by making him play the halfcourt game. Any team that's going to have a dominant center, and uses the half-court most of the time doesn't need a runner like Kidd, but he's definitely one of the greats as far as PG's go.

the thing is, before the nets had kidd, they didn't have richard jefferson. they didn't have collins. kenyon martin's leg was broken, kerry kittles was always hurt, and keith van horn got hurt a lot. that's what stephon had. then kidd came, kittles leg stopped hurting, martin healed, kvh played (yes that's a good thing), and they drafted RJ and collins. people think kidd turned that whole thing around when he got way more help than marbury did. i'm not saying marbury would have done as well but there isn't this huge chasm b/t kidd and marbury nor is kidd as good as people think (imo). he's the best player on the 7th best team in the league. that's great and all, but i feel he's definitely overhyped.
