Chron (Lopez) mentioned Rox are considering WC, that would be solid if it was in a S&T for Stro. When Hubie took over the Griz, he really started getting WC to realize if he played within himself he could contribute more to winning.

If JVG got a hold of WC, he just might make him a solid PG...esp since WC is getting older and may realize that playing better D and taking better shots are really that much to ask.

CD, c'mon baby get Jerry to make the deal!

I used to love coming to Clutch's message board during the Lockout season.

Threads like this I tried to ignore.

I'm waiting for the "trade for Cedric Henderson" thread.

Please don't call him White Chocolate. He never liked the nickname (according to an interview he did while he was on the Kings).

haha, I liked Cedric Henderson as a rookie..

With so many Jason Williams around, white choc reminded me of a Darryl Dawkins dunk name!

Don't be hatin' KD! I'm just tired of Swift like us; Swift checking out 3 teams; Swift looking at S&T; Swift liked by McGrady; Swift jock for sale on eBay...

I thought the intro of J-Will in another thread was worth discussing his skills and how they might help/hinder Rox line-up.

Maybe. I always thought Williams had the potential to be a great PG. He was way to wild, until Hubie got a hold of him. I believe Hubie actually was teaching how to control his game. I probably saw him play 4-5 games w/Hubie as his coach and his game was much better. He was in control running the offense; wasn't jacking up threes at the wrong time and made an effort on defense.

Imagine what he could do running the break w/TMac, Swift, Sura/Barry/James? Actually his defensive weaknesses might be less of a liability with the rocks, then w/Grizz.

I dont know but didnt they say Jason Williams and T-Mac were really good friends. That could add to the chemistry of our team. And maybe T-Mac could work with VanGundy to make J-Will a better PG. Maybe its just wishful thinking or maybe im see too much into this friendship thing.

I know that Memphis would like to clear Jason from its cap, but I doubt they'd want to send him to a division foe.

Also, does JVG take on this headache? I doubt he thinks he can succeed where the Czar failed.

And taking on big contracts from Williams and Swift might put too much hurt in Les's pocket.

    Bottom line: very unlikely.

That being said, the rockets desperately need three things: rebounding, front-court defense, and assists. A move like this would instantly correct all of those problems.

    Check out these 12 guys:

    PG: Williams, James, Head
    SG: Sura, Barry, Head
    SF: McGrady, Sura, Bowen
    PF: Howard, Swift, Padgett
    C: Yao, Mutombo, Swift

That being said, you could get similar results by stealing Swift for the MLE and signing Mighty Mouse on the cheap.

I'd be VERY happy with that kind of depth, but given we'd still have MLE/LLE we could probably upgrade Padgett and Bowen.

I doubt we'll get SS for MLE. I also don't think MM will come for LLE. However, if the SS S&T happens, we might still look to MM with MLE. Assuming James is part of trade.

I would take JWill if we got Swift. He is a good player that seems to have fallen off in Memphis. He has cut down his TOs while keeping his assists up, which is good. He's got a nice outside shot and can run a break.

You're probably thinking of Randy Moss. They played together in high school.

I think you're talking about Mike Miller. T-Mac was pretty upset when he was traded.

I agree they probably wouldn't excel with us, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be adequate. J-Will was pretty solid under Hubie. Swift has had to play behind Gasol most of his career, but he didn't do too bad the few games he started in place of Pau.

I dont know about JWill, but I think in JVG's defensive system and next to Yao and Tmac, Swift would excell in our system. In fact Swift's skillset is exactly what JVG is looking for at the PF spot. What's more important though, is with Swift on the frontline I think that would augment Yao's and Tmac's games and that's what you want from your role players.

They are not playing for the Logo...they are playing for Fratello. And it's no coincidence they both did well under Hubie whose coaching style is more akin to VG than Fratello.
