he was always kind to me and open to my point of view, even though it was different from his. i doubted some of his stories...but i think he's probably a really nice guy.
Nice. Let's use a thread for the sole purpose to bash a poster who's not even around to defend himself. I'd hope the admins would close this thread like they did with Nomar's thread about Trader_Jorge. But again, they didn't close the one trying to embarass me.
I thought he was a little long winded sometimes. (OK well almost everytime) But RM95 is right he doesn't deserve the treatment he has received here from some of the posters.
FWIW, I believe he has attributed some of his previous absences as being due to serious health issues. I don't know the guy of course so who knows, but if that's true in this case then I hope he's doing ok. And to the rest of you dumping on him, well....
You're right. He isn't here. And I also don't think this is bashing. I've called him on it when he was on here, as well. He chose to ignore that, too. If you're going to pretend, and exaggerate, you've got every right to. But we also have the right to call you on it, don't we?
I appreciated the thought he put into his posts. But....I, too, would have to agree about questioning the veracity of some of his stories. Not to say it couldn't be theoretically possible, but what were some of them? Model, professor, athlete, dating p*rn stars, lives with four female roomates, etc....
What a bunch of dicks. None of you have any reason to assume MacBeth lied about anything. Especially the professor business. If he's not in academia, he's got a hell of a history fetish. Great poster, missed by many. I hope he's back soon.
I actually enjoyed his takes in the GARM forum, but rarely agreed with him on D&D. However, I do miss his long winded diatribes. As for the truth of his posts, I don't know, and really don't care. I do hope he is ok though. DD
YoYao was funny. Kind of livened things up around here. You do have to wonder about this board... how many people could be exaggerating about their lives. Not that most of you seem to be doing it. MacBeth seemed smart enough to at least have gotten the Ph.D., if not the actual professor position. I hate to accuse anyone of anything, though it is a kind of unusual collection of stories. I would also like to think most academics wouldn't be so hung up on p*rn and p*rn stars (though that's probably wishful thinking on my part). Anyway, we all just take everything on this board we hear for granted... -Isabel (actual professor; not a p*rn star or model )
