Given that the coaching staff is gone, who's there in Houston to work with Thabeet on his game this summer? Are the rest of the trainers/assistants still there?

Hasheem and the Dream need to get together this summer.
You are already paying Hasheem a nice salary...pay Olajuwon to train the young man.
If the Rockets do that...I think it will give us the real answer in terms of Tabeet.

Hakeem would die of old age before Hasheem learns anything.

With the new coaching staff coming in, Hasheem will have a better chance of getting some playing time. We will definitely need him.

    CD lives here.

Even if he isn't being coached up by the Rockets, he can hire a coach/trainer and go practice. All sorts of NBAers making money all summer working with current NBAers helping them get better. It's up to Hasheem to take some initiative here to get better.

Granted, all the players need a vacation. But it's not like Hasheem piled up the minutes this season. He didn't. He's not banged, not dinged, not injured. And he's still very young. Sure, he needs a vacation. But just how long do you think he should be out banging around before he gets his skinny you know what back in the gym and starts working? Personally, I think he should be stateside and waking up in the gym by the beginning of June. If he lollygags around this summer and he comes back in about a month to 6 weeks before the season and starts working out, you can bank on it, he ain't gonna turn into anything. For guys to remarkedly improve their game, they got to lock on to their work as soon as the Finals are over.

Saw him at the Galleria a few weeks ago.
Also saw Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson and Jai Lucas minutes later.

I don't think so. I think he will be able to get into the rotation some time next season.

Disclaimer: I didn't actually read this thread...

The thread title reminds me of a game a couple years back. (couldn’t be too long ago, sometime within the Rick era’.) Nevertheless, I think we were facing the trailblazers, and Van Gundy was commentating. Well, on one possession Yao cuts to the basket and receives a bounce-pass which leads to an easy lay up. Whoever was the play by play guy goes, “Yao with the easy basket as Pryzbilla loses his man,” to which Jeff replies “How do you lose a 7 foot 6 Chinese man?”

Yeah just thought I’d share that.
