How many of you are dissappointed that Hakeem has not been in attendance for the playoffs? I know I am. It's like he forgot about the blood, sweat, and tears we all went through together. He just packed up and left. I dont understand it. Does he have no more love for Clutch City??? Anyways, he will always remain the greatest center of all time!!
I believe he went to live in a Middle Eastern country. I forgot which one. So it's not like he just has to drive a few miles.
JORDAN!! Did he go off on a crusade to find Michael Jordan to finally challenge him to a dual? He must have figured that was the best place.
NO, its just an awesome country that has the best of both worlds i gues. Its not as western as UAE(dubai) and its not as strict as Saudi Arabia... Its a perfect blend of both cultures. And its not exactly a poor country either so you can live a very nice life there.
adeelsiddiqui- Im not knocking Jordan because I really dont know much about it, but what IM trying to say is that it is a BIG jump to go from Texas to Jordan.
Hakeem is a very devout Muslim that's part of why he went over there. It would be cool to see him though. Maybe when we make the Finals.
He was there with Moses Malone at Shaq-Yao I I remember he even did a photoshoot with Yao I'm not dissapointed that Hakeem isn't in the playoffs, it would be nice to see him back home but I could care less if he showed up
Probably out scouting somewhere in Europe... but I guarantee you he follows this team like no other. In fact, I bet you he's visited this site on occasion...
I live outside Chi-town, but when I was talkin' to my pops this afternoon he told me Hakeem was on the news talking $hit about Karla. Since I dont know why my father would lie, I am assuming that he is SOMEWHERE in Screwston...
I really doubt Hakeem showing up would do much for this team. None of them played here when Hakeem was a star... many of them didn't play with hakeem at all... I doubt many of them grew up "loving hakeem" since they aren't native born houstonians etc... I know I've heard yao liked hakeem.. but I'm not so sure he would be that big of a motivational thing for this team... just because I don't know how many on this team followed the rockets in his big years..
I disagree, Hakeem showing up would have meant alot to this team. Especially if he had shown up before the series. Would be a boost to have a former Rocket who has 2 rings show some concern. But then again, no past Rockets ever show up to anything. Matt Bullard and CD are about the only links to the past we have. That is a shame.
Olajuwon doesn't have many ties with this team, other than Mobley and Francis, the two guys who refused to give him the ball during his last couple years in Houston.
