How are they making all these crazy calls? MSNBC has made a bunch of calls with 0% of the vote reported. Yes, you read it right: 0%. Sometimes they call a race with less than 10% of the vote reported, but with 61% of the vote reported somewhere else (and a sizeable numerical lead) they don't want to make a call. Do they know from where the votes come (i.e specific county) and just don't bog us viewers down with the details?
Guys, this is looking REALLY GOOD. Should Bush hang on to win this, which apparently the GOP think they already have according to Drudge, then we need to give today a name. Ideas? Triumphant Day Mandate Day Support our Troops Day ? Thoughts?
I can see that with the calls made with very low totals of votes counted, but what about the ones where a lot of votes were counted? Why weren't those called? I think one of them was Florida; is that solely a reason to stay away from making a call? The last votes coming in from Florida were panhandle votes which are "military" votes cast in Central Time not Eastern Time. Seems like, if anything, the lead would stretch... but still no call.
An exit poll that has a 1% lead isn't reliable One that has a huge one, like in a solid state like CA, or TX, is reliable. You're welcome.
