This month is swinging by pretty quick. I was wondering when does training camp start, and will anyone be the to cover it.
... and who, from the Summer League, is invited? I'm particularly interested in that Israeli (?) guy who was a last minute replacement for Nachbar.

And what's the story with Yao's commitment to the Chinese national team? Isn't he supposed to miss part of training camp? Anyone know how much? And if he'll miss any games? And whether I ask too many questions?
I'm not to sure about this, but I think Yao could miss 2 or 3 preseason games, I can't remember. I think he'll be playing in the Asian Games, and China will most likely win. The championship game is like a day before one of our preseason games. I know its against SA, but I forgot how many games in. That's all I know. ( I think.)
He'll only miss one game. I thought he was coming on Oct.15 which would be a pre-season game with the Spurs. We have one preseason game in early Oct. then the rest after October 15...strangely

asian games schedule: http://busanasiangames.org/Eng/Sports/Standard_Sports.asp?Events=Scd_BB I guess Yao Ming could only join Rockets after OCT 20.
The (Asian Games) men's basketball final will be held on Oct.15th (East Asia time) and since it's for sure the China NT won't miss it,( Sorry that Team USA lost a great game tonight), Yao Ming will be available on Oct.16 at the earlist, I think. But, mmm...., is it too late?
Given the travel schedule and "settling in," it makes the most sense for his first pre-season game to be the 18th (limited minutes, perhaps just a couple of series head-to-head against Sabonis). However, since that game is in Missouri, they may wait until the 20th and the Orlando game at home. Assuming it works out that way, that leaves two home preseason games, a short trip to San Antonio, and nearly two full weeks for the team to prepare for the season opener on the road in Indiana on the 30th.
