It helps that I am 2 houses away from the main source of internet service for Cablevision Optimum Online in my town. The customer service guy on the phone when I ordered told me that it was like having the cable coming through my window and directly into my computer!

    :D

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't live without this service. Its perfect since I got it 3 months ago and 1 billion times better than DSL.

I think the stats are out of whack. Nobody with a dial-up is actually going to click on the poll 'cuz they don't feel like waiting for the response. So I say triple the dial-uppers and that would be more realistic.

Had RoadRunner, pretty reliable. Pretty Fast.

    Moved.

Stuck with SWB DSL , not too bad speed wise, not too reliable. :(

I hope you were happy with you DSL with EV1. I work for them in their DSL tech support department. Just happy that you didnt switch over to IP Com. because they really do suck. I was also a victim of the Northpoint bankruptcy, so I also switched over to RR. Its been pretty good so far, but I already have to replace my modem once already since I got it. Plus, their tech support is horrible. I went through 4 days of their crap and just guessed the modem was the problem and it was. But I have a question, is the data light on your modem blinkin even though you are not actively surfing and dont have any programs running in background? My has been like crazy since the "code red" thing broke out. Its been the same since.

I used to have RoadRunner in Houston but sometimes I swear it would go slower than a 56k. Now in Chicago I have 56k (Netzero.....oh yeah baby!..........free NZ Platinum on Weekends in Sept!) because cable is like 80 bucks with AT&T@Home. I think 40 some buck a month with like 40 for installation.
