that'd be good and make happy, too. after all, if we count mcgrady out, we do need a wing man who can be an offensive threat.

but ain't as good as nash, though.

Not bad ... but he shot under 45% in all but three seasons.

I can't believe I forgot to mention Larry Bird.

I think Reggie Miller has to be the best I've seen (only seen Rick Barry on ESPN classic). He just never had the clean looks that Steve Nash gets. When a team's entire gameplan is to stop you from shooting and you still drain it on them, that's special. In Nash's best years teams wanted him to fall in love with his shot. I don't think you can linearly look at fg%'s and say Nash is the best.

TJ Ford, Randy Foye or Calderon if it's a PG that hasn't been mentioned much? I don't know. If it's true that this guy always rags on Rafer, it makes sense he would be this excited over a possible PG upgrade. I hate the suspense though!

I know he's a free-agent-to-be but I doubt it. I thought about this a lot too but at the end I just don't know how they can conclude he's not worth hanging onto. He's demonstrably better than Ridnour. If they move him i'll be shocked.

Good point. Nevertheless, Nash is a historically great shooter at his position, and in my opinion our biggest weakness this season has been consistent perimeter shooting and playmaking at the PG spot.

Did anyone hear Morey's sount byte a few hours ago? To sum up, there may be deals out there that might have "a positive impact on the future". I barely caught it, but it sounded like we might do something we were not intending to do.

I say Calderon. Toronto just traded O'neal and Moon for Marion. They might shake things up and have a lineup of Bosh, Marion, and Artest. Plus its good for them because they can save money next year with both Marion and Artest coming off the books.

because he'll be a restricted free agent this summer and milwaukee can't afford to pay him and villanueva with big money tied up already in jefferson, redd and bogut, especially since they are a small market in a bad economy. They'll try and trade him now rather than lose him for nothing later. If we don't get him, I wouldn't be surprised if someone else does. They'd probably prefer to keep him over villanueva, but figure villanueva would be cheaper of the two, and less coveted.

You don't have the best comprehension skills, do you?

Someone ELSE suggested Artest for Nash and you bashed it. I responded by saying that IF that deal were on the table, it would be a mistake to turn it down.

Again, IF the deal that someone ELSE brought up was on the table, it'd be a mistake to turn it down. Never did I say it's something Phoenix would do.

OK, how about Artest + Head for Sessions, Villanueva and Bell?

Trade works theoretically and would be ideal for both teams b/c we get an a PG with a bright future, Villanueva with great shooting and the ability to stretch the defense with his 3 ball and we replace Head with a similar player in Bell. Why do the Bucks do it? They get an expiring in Artest and technically Head (only has a qualifying offer left next yr) AND get out of Bell's contract which expires 3 yrs from now in 2011 at $4million/per.

I also like that Villanueva only has one more yr on his contract as a qualifying offer and Sessions is getting paid marbles.

I love Artest but his defense is just not doing it for our team. His offense is suspect on most nights. We cannot have one of the biggest cogs in our offense rely on the three ball all the time!

Tell me you don't like the idea of a small-ball fast break lineup of Sessions, Brooks, Wafer, Bell, and Scola? Now that would be instant offense!

    Our new lineup would be:
    Alston, Brooks, Sessions
    Tmac, Barry, Bell
    Villanueva, Wafer
    Scola, Landry, Hayes
    Yao, Mutombo, Dorsey
