theres a saying if its not broke dont fix it. so please tell me why would they trade fisher for artest??
How about Ramon Sessions? He fits in the "unknown star" category. He's averaging 26 and 10 in Feb, or 18 and 8 as a starter. I heard that Milwaukee might be shopping him because they don't think they can afford him this summer. If Artest is supposed to be in the deal, it could even be possible we're looking to trade Artest (for cap room) and maybe Battier (a Skiles type player) for Jefferson (whose contract is too long) and Sessions. That would be awesome. We would start Sessions Wafer (forget McGrady) Jefferson Scola Yao If that happens I say trade Alston away to one of those point guard starved teams for a pick or something. He'll just complain when he's not a starter anymore.
I don't think Nash is the answer, unless we're okay with Yao getting less touches. This team wants to pound it in to Yao, that's wasting alot of Nash's best qualities. ...and yeah Reggie Miller and Ray Allen are rolling over in their graves with that greatest shooter comment.
If Morey could EVER get Sessions and Jefferson for Artest and Battier i would put him up for GM of the year... But since that wont happen i wont have to worry abotu filling out that ballot..
I am guessing based on solomon's word that it is someone that hasn't been in trade rumors lately and that we will be happy. Now if we are in talks with Nets on Carter, one would guess that this is going to be more than just Ron getting involved. This also implies that a 3rd team would also be in the mix. (tmac and Ron on same team again after trade it's going to be a nightmare) Most likely Western Teams are out of the question. -Tmac is a valueable asset for teams interested in FA hunt in 2010.
milwaukee doesn't have a healthy PG right now besides sessions. i don't see them making that deal unless alston is involved.
OK... It would be a miracle.. A huge miracle... but if they could somehow swing the Artest ( + filler ) for Carter AND find a way to get rid of T-Miserable for someone dependable, I would completely freak! Personally, and I am sure alot agree, if we can only trade one I sure hope that it is T-Miserable..
the best trade idea so far, might not work from both ends rockets-sessions could only be a wet dream n might just flame out bucks- sessions might just be the next best thing
It's not Nash. It couldn't be. We simply don't have enough, assuming the trade doesn't involve Yao. The guy is a 2 time MVP, and still has game. The Suns could get a heck of a lot more than what we'd be offering. Plus, they'd almost certainly want to move him to the East.
True...but even if we got Sessions I'd be pretty pleased. He's looked good when he gets minutes and he's still very young. In fact, the more I think about it, he's probably the best possible option for point guard available right now. I'd take him over bibby, nash, blake, felton, fisher, andre miller...and obviously we couldn't get paul, williams, harris, westbrook, rose, or anyone else any better.
You're 100% right that he's not the same player he used to be. You're 100% wrong that it would be a bad deal, assuming nothing better is on the table. We have to get something for Ron before he expires. If you wouldn't take a 14 point, 10 assist PG who shoots 47%/42%/94% for a ball-stopper who shoots 38% from the field, doesn't make his teammates better, and who can walk away at the end of the season, well...let me just say I'm glad you're not our GM.
If Nash joins us then book yourself holiday from work deep into the playoffs. Heck, I'd even say start making plans for the parade and thats not entirely improbable as mac might be rdy to take into the team concept much more with rafer + artest gone, his biggest foes. But as much as I love the guy, it's too good to be true. If somehow, he does then there will be rings in years to come. Yao + Nash will attract other good players. Both team-oriented and seriously skilled guys. Mouth watering indeed.
well, that depends on if the other team needs an upgrade in pg position. and for phx, getting financial relief (not playoff contention) is their biggest worry right now. steve nash it is!
Where are you getting the "unknown star" angle from? The most Solomon writes on the matter is: http://blogs.chron.com/jeromesolomon/2009/02/post_75.html
(On a side note, the Rockets are in the mix for somebody that hasn't been the subject of many rumors. Hopefully we can talk about this in a few days. That deal would make almost all of you happy.) Sounds vague pure speculation and rumor. He said the rockets are in the mix not front-runners for a deal. Seems like discussion which every team in the league is doing right now doesn't sound like something imminent is being planned.
