    "Girl accused of stabbing classmate
Wednesday, May 21, 2003 By MELISSA GRIFFY Repository staff writer
JACKSON TWP. — It started when a girl dissed a boy for wearing Abercrombie & Fitch.

It ended with the girl sticking a pair of scissors into the boy’s neck during class, police say.

He has been treated at a hospital and released.

She has been charged with felonious assault.

The two were arguing in class Tuesday when 15-year-old Amy Quinn of 5805 Armistice Ave. NW became frustrated and stabbed her classmate, said Police Chief Harley Neftzer.

Victim Eric Sivavec’s mother, Lori Weitzel of Jackson Township, called the situation “disturbing.”

“I don’t wish the worst for her,” Weitzel said. “It is just so upsetting. What is in this poor little girl to make her lash out like that?”

Weitzel said that, as she understands it, her son barely knew Amy, whom he described as “one of the quiet girls.”

“It’s something you hear about on TV,” Weitzel said. “Thankfully, he was not seriously injured. He could have been very seriously injured — or even killed.”

Sixteen-year-old Eric said the students, both sophomores, were in biology class at the time of the dispute. He thought the spat was over long before class ended.

But when he went to pick up his books, he said, Amy came at him from behind with the scissors.

Eric said he was left with a wound on the back of his neck near his spine.

Neftzer said police received the call from Jackson High School administrators at 8:47 a.m. Police have no reports of other violence between the two students.

Eric was taken to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated in the emergency room and released by late afternoon.

Amy was taken to the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Stark County Family Court at 2:30 p.m. today.

Jackson High’s policy says weapons in the school call for suspension and possible expulsion of the student.

Principal Rick Campbell said school officials hadn’t met concerning Amy’s possible discipline. “I don’t know at this point in time,” Campbell said of the situation, which he called “unusual.”

If if was that bad of an argument, shouldn't their be some blame on the teacher for not separating them/sending them to the office?

BTW, that girl has no balls, anyone with balls would have got him from the front.

This is why I've started the group ASS. That's right, ASS. Adults against Scissors at School. We should ban these instruments of death now!

Don't get me started on Elmer's.
