Mobley weren't a basketball version of Ray Charles, and found Francis for that wide open 3 with 2 mins left in the game?

It's little crap like that, that the Rockets do 10-15 times in a game that adds up to the Rockets blowing close games.

I am convinced that we play with 1 eye closed in the game.

Mobley is cancer. Unfortunately, the Rockets are stuck with him because there they are way over the salary cap, and they can't find a better shooting guard.

did mobley make a great steal on kobe one time down then the next find rice for the 3 that put us up 4? why must our guards always be called out no matter what. what if yao hadn't shot like a basketball version of ray charles tonight?

A little earlier Mobley went for a steal (with little to no chance IMO) his man passed him, Francis came over, Mobes man passed to Francis's man who hit the three. Bad decision cost us three points. Was that important?

Yao definitely played like crap tonight as Shaq was unstoppable.

However, that play was gut wrenching.

Mobley is a cancer? One, that isn't true. A cancer is somebody who creates a negative attitude in the locker room. I seriously doubt any of the Rockets feel that way. 2nd, how can people throw the cancer term arround so carelessly after Rudy has just been diagnosed with it?

That last 3 that Mobley missed did hurt cause Shaq came right back and scored. That changed the momentum of the game completely.

The thing that changed the momentum was Shaq missing that FT and Yao not being able to grab the rebound.

Francis wasn't shooting particularly well......but yeah. Mobley should have passed on that one. I can't blame Mobley though. He played good defense....and still scored. Just........uhh.....nice try

How about Cato's flagrant foul? Although IMO loved it, Kobe sank those 3 free throws and then sank 2 more freebies after that.

7-17 isn't for Francis isn't great, but it isn't too bad either. I mean, 7-14 gets you @ 50%. But Stevie was doing other things to help the team - 10 rebounds, eight assist, four steals, one block.

Yeah, as soon as it happened I posted my displeasure with Mobley on that play! I couldn't believe it (actually, in a way, I could).

Francis was wide-open and Mobley either didn't see him or he just wanted to hit the three himself. It's not like Stevie was on the other side of the court or anything, he was in the corner.

Mobley didn't see Francis until after the shot was already leaving his hands. Am I the only one who heard the announcers mention this?

That's what makes me even more mad.

By ACCIDENT, Mobley can't help but not pass to the open man.

It means that Mobley was just hell bent on HIMSELF shooting the ball, with 7 secs still on the clock. If Mobley wants to be a go-to guy, better court awareness/vision is required.

What if kidrock actually praises a Rocket once in a while?

Cuttino played Kobe about as well as one can hope to play. His defense today is some of the best I have seen in a while. So he didn't see Francis on one play. Not every player is able to play a perfect game.

A selfish ball hog is a player who doesn't pass to open players, and take shots where he doesn't have a good look at the basket, and misses it.

A role player is a player who isn't unselfish but just doesn't have the court vision to see the open teammates and/or the passing skills to pass to open teammates.

Which category is Cat Mobley in?

    Oski.....he didn't see him?

I thought he fake passed it to him and then shot...

See...that's Mobley's problem. He isn't aware of other teammates. He just shoots himself. But that's not his fault. He's a shooting guard. :(
