We beat Phoenix and Minnesota the last time we play them and each series is tied at 2-2 and we finish the season with the same record.

Does the tiebraker then move to division or conference records? The three teams have pretty much the same division records.

The tiebreaker goes to the better conference record which the Rockets would most assuredly lose. If it is for the division title, the next tiebreaker is probably division record.

If there is a 3 way tie, things MAY be different.

    New question:

Didn't the Rockets have a single playoff game against the Suns one year before the championships? I dont know why but I remember the Rockets playing the Suns in the final game of the season for a playoff spot and the Rocks lost. I thought it was a playoff game, but was it just a regular season game?

If it was a game which decided who gets in the playoffs it was NOT an 83rd game. The NBA (at least in the past 30 years) has not had tiebreaker playoff games.
