Why was he a DNP tonight? It seems like the Denver game would have been a good opportunity to give him big minutes. Was he hurt somehow?

I was wondering the same thing. Is he in Rudy's doghouse?

I had that thought too esp. when we were getting out hussled in the 3rd.

And why were we playing so much small ball?

But I'm not going to question Rudy. I'll keep my questions to myself. Rudy's decisions seem odd but that is why he gets the big bucks.

Well, just after the Nuggets tied us, we went to small ball with Kenny and Rice as our front line - at least from what I could see from the upper deck. Then we started scoring and stopping Denver. We went on to win. I'm not questioning Rudy either.

I am sure EG is in the doghouse. If I was the coach, I would certainly have him in the doghouse until he understands that there is more to the game than shooting 3's. He forgot that he is a 4 and sometimes a 5!

Gutter, When we went small , they caught up. When we had Cato and Thomas in there we got our lead, once we put in Rice and Walt? They caught up. Then Rudy poured out the Hennessey and put Willis in and thats when we got the lead back. I don't like seeing Walt and Rice out there at the same time. Hell, I don't like seeing either out there period much less together. Kenny, Cato, and Willis were killing on the inside before Rudy decided to go small. Seeing how small the Nuggets were, I wish we would have played our big normal line up more. Plus when we had Rice and Walt out there, not only were we getting outrebounded, but we got real slooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

If Griffin is in the dog house, which I highly doubt, T-Mo must be in the kennel.

SA can start 19yr old Tony Parker, but we can play Griffin or Morris against the Nuggets. Something doesn't seem right.

You're right Dakota, but would we have won without Steve Francis? Probably not, but thats the equivilent of not having McDyess for Denver. Its a game we should have won, but we could have played better. i think small ball hurt us and let Denver get up off the mat. Sooner or later, or maybe during this stretch coming up, Rudy will see we need something out of that 3 spot. Dirk and Peja will make Rice and Walt look pretty bad coming up.

Let griffin shoot the 3s, hes a leader in 3 point percentage. Until he sucks at them, let him shoot them.

    Great game guys!

All around good game, we will be even more dangerous once Glenn Rice gets his shooting touch back. I predict 3-4 more tepid games before he really unleashes a firestorm and hits 7-10 three pointers. Like I said earlier, I think this is the best Rockets team I have seen since '97, the year we went to the Conference Finals. I am not predicting that, but we will make the playoffs.

I see this year as a upheaval year for the contenders. I see Utah, Portland not making the playoffs. Utah will be 50-50 at best. Portland just plain sucks and deserves what it gets. Phoenix may make playoffs, but is not nearly the team it was without Kidd, as they traded a true player for a spoiled brat. They will be worse than last year. This leaves a gaping hole for us, and I see us up there in the West with Lakers, Sacramento, Dallas, and SA. (in order)

As for the East... who cares?

I cant hold back another report of poor media coverage of the Rockets. Jonathan Feigen, normally a huge Rocket fan wrote how terribly the Rockets played tonight in his coverage of the game. For some reason, people are really down on the Rocks this year, I cant explain it.

    Any feedback?

Do we have a forward controversy on the Houston Rockets? On one hand we have a proven winner in Glen Rice who I would liken to Major Applewhite. Although Glen is slow and unathletic he is battle-tested and owns a championship ring. Griffin, on the other hand, has all the athletic tools and physical skills like Chris Simms. Right now Rudy is going with Major rather than Simms, err. Griff.

Actually its Morris, not playing not Griffin. Morris should play more than he is and so should Griffin. Thomas played well and Rudy still sat him for long periods. Anyone who reads this board know I'm not a big Thomas fan, But against some of these 2nd rate 4's, he has his way. Rudy should have played him more and also Cato/Willis should have played more. We went small and slow and thats when they made their run. When Kenny scored 6 straight on Raef, they should have kept going to him, instead of pulling him out the game. I didn't understand Rudy's thinking on that one.

Yeah Griffin is really killing us with that 4 of 6 shooting from the 3 point line.

Griffin can't shoot worth a lick from inside the arc.
