Yao only scored 10 points againts an Austrilian team that could'nt even make it to the world championship games.Could we be castig all of our eggs in one basket with ming. c
How many minutes did MIng play? That needs to be factored in considering they are playing back-to-back games and the coach may not have him out there as long as last game.
It was one game - just one game. Every player has an off-night - even the greatest against weaker opponents - and it could very well be that he was fatigued from the previous games.
Where were you the previous 2 games when Yao scored 55 pts? The definition of a troll. And save the 'why call someone a troll if they're telling the truth' crap, too. Once again, where have you been?
I've said it before and I will say it again. Ming will be a great addition to our team. But, I think many of the posters here thing that he will come in right away and dominate. Ming will need at least 1 year in the NBA before he develops. Right now, he is not capable of taking the Rockets to the next level. That is why I think the Rockets will win about 45 games this year as opposed to the 55-60 games that some people are predicting.
he is already getting question, i can just see the thread topics when he has a rough time when the season starts. its good to know we are going to let him develop
Any one remember a Cartoon loosely based on the Dukes of Hazzard . .call Trollkins? I dunno why that came to my mind. . . . Rocket River
I don't want to be considered a troll, but I think Yao scoring only 10 points is a noteworthy thing. I know everyone has an off night and yao definitely had one, but does that mean only his good games should be mentioned? Myself being a lowly junior member, this may not mean much, but: Welcome to the board Mac.
In the CBA Ming's numbers 32.4 pts and about 20 boards In the Asian Championships 13.4pts and 10 boards thats a big drop against players that lack NBA level talent.
Thanks sooner glad to be a board, I just think that if Yao is putting up Cato type numbers againts the Aussies you have to wonder what he could do in the NBA.
In the CBA Yao is forced to play almost 48 minutes a game. In the Asian Championships he plays maybe 10 or 20 minutes a game. Asian Championships is a stroll in the park for China. They beat their opponents by 30, 40 points every game, except perhaps against Korea. No need for Yao to play a lot of minutes. Whereas in the CBA Yao is the heart and soul of his team and often plays every single minte of a game.
Real Rocket fans, I think we need to develop very thick, tough skin. Just wait until the season when the national media blasts Yao after a poor outing. Yao is going to be the focus of a lot of criticism, good and bad, and we better get prepared for it. Idiotic statements like "...Yao only scored 10 points...blah, blah, blah..." will likely continue. Ignoring these ignorant posts is easier said than done...I'm the first to admit. os
If he scored 10 points per game for the Rockets, I'd be pretty happy. Anything over 10 points is a bonus.
Because of the Chinese team's domination over other Asian teams, Yao does not need to play much (if at all) and the Chinese team can still win by 30 or 40 points. Simply put; Yao is often rested and only plays 10 to 20 minutes a game since the they don't need him to win. Thus its better to give others a chance and gain experience. -G'day-
