Had to post this. A lot of schools cheat, but Clemson is probably thinking WHAT THE FU$K ARE YOU THINKING!! http://brahsome.com/2008/03/27/kenn...-a-large-bag-of-bills-for-an-amateur-athlete/
Yep, that's pretty stupid. If somebody gives you a bribe 1)You don't flaunt that you just accepted a bribe, 2) You don't let yourself be photographed holding the bribe money, still fresh in their money wrappers, and 3) You don't post that picture on your MySpace page for the entire freakin' world to see. That's beyond stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't kept academically eligible in HS due to favors from the faculty.
What the big deal? He's flashing money, so what? For all we know, he could have just saved his money from working or whatever. There's no proof Clemson gave him that money. Sure it looks bad. College football player, with a college shirt and a whole bunch of money. But that money could have came from anywhere. It's just no way the money is legit right? When people see a young black man flashing a whole lot of cash, they automatically assume he took a bribe or did something else illegal.
Because people just walk around with $10,000, all in 20's, that they got legitimately still in money wrappers and placed into plastic bags. And it's just a coincidence that he just signed a letter of intent in a sport that's notorious for paying off amateur athletes.
He's pretty good at the game of gathering all that money. Signed, ---------- Angkor, I know much less than all you do about sports and betting and illegally accepting money for stuff like this, but I can bet you that if the athlete were white, brown, yellow or GREEN, people would still call it a very dumb move, especially in the "controversy" and "bribery" age, and when people look up to athletes no matter what sport they're in.
I agree. Its quite presumptuous to believe he received it as bribe money or anything of that sort. He could have just posed with the money as it might have been someone else's. I mean if you keep making assumptions regarding him and the money people will start saying all sorts of things like maybe he is a drug dealer or maybe he is in the mob, etc... I would give him the benefit of the doubt here, and say even if it is his money he probably didn't get it from illicit means. But this picture below on the other hand...
