Another good game by Lowry. I don't think he'll have a good game tomorrow against Chicago though, he played all out this game.
It's getting harder and harder for you to make the argument that Lowry doesn't create good shots for others. Another 12 assist tonight after 10 the night before. He must be doing something right. That said, you shouldn't get too low or too high after games. Incredible game by Lowry tonight, but it would be foolish to expect this kind of offense over a sustainable period.
If Lowry gets 40 mpg and the shooters are hitting halfway decent, I expect him up close to 10 assists every game. I do not expect him to score like he did tonight. That is an anomaly and actually is bad for his game. Lowry's game is penetration, dishing, and finishing. I sure hope he keeps playing to his strengths and not playing to weaknesses that everybody else thinks he should be improving on. I hate hate hate hate the idea of Lowry shooting jump shots. Did I say I hate the idea of Lowry shooting jumpers? I mean I hate it. I don't want Lowry shooting long jumpers. I want Lowry shooting in the paint.
You stole my words, because this is what AB lovers have said constantly......in Rick's system PG's don't have a high assist number.
I understand where you're coming from, but Kyle Lowry hitting jumpshots should never be referred to as a "bad thing". It's not bad -- it's fan-freakin-tastic. I understand your logic.. he's going to have confidence he can hit it and go back to bricking. But we can't trot out a point guard whose scared to shoot the open jumper -- he HAS to shoot them and HAS to be able to hit them at an acceptable clip. Morey today said 31-32% would be fine, as it makes the three-point shot worth it. We saw a lot of reports about Lowry working out hard all summer; then he got hurt in training camp and again during the season. When he finally returned, he had to play heavy minutes right away and his rust showed. He looks great to me now. I don't expect him to shoot like this in the future, but I expect him to shoot better than he did last year.
my seasons of 9.5, 9.1 and 8.0 under Adelman say HI I'd like to also chime in with my seasons of 7.2 and 9.0 under coach Adelman
Having Lowry score double digits is a privilege. We never really expect him to score double figures every game. We would love it though.
I find it amusing how a great game by Lowry can get turned into "AB should be traded." If Lowry continues his currently play, then AB only helps this team by giving it another weapon... ...or is it not about the Rockets being better, but rather just trying to prove DD wrong?
I agree with you -- I'd welcome back AB with open arms. But there's a growing number of us that would prefer AB take the Bobby Jackson 6th man role versus resume his starting role. It's not a minutes reduction, it just would help him focus on what he does best -- scoring.
