But both were from the Lowry's passes, so Lowry got double credits for this win. Of course, Battier is the player of the game, no one would argue that.
Probably like this: Video Assistant: "Hey Morey, Lowry makes flashy plays, have you thought about trading Brooks and making him starter?" Morey: "Playoffs 09" Video Assistant: "Say that again? Playoffs 08?" Morey: "Oh well, nm" Come on, Lowry's first playoff series is way better than AB's first playoff seires. They both made a lot improvement since then.
This is true but Brooks doesn't really do anything better than KM to warrant a starting spot. I've been saying it all along that Brooks should just come off the bench.
Um Lowry's first playoff series, in his third year, he shot 33% from the field. 20 mpg 5 pts, 2.5 assists, 1.5 t/os He was completely innefective. Brooks played 8 mpg in his rookie season. Brooks has gotten better since then, Lowry has gotten worse.
Come on. Lowry only played with Rockets for half a season. AB had 1 year experience. For a PG, it's very important to have chemistry. Ish Smith is a rookie now, and he's a better PG than AB in his rookie year. Brooks played 8 mpg is not Lowry's falut. It means he wasn't good enough to get any meaningful minutes behind Alston and Jackson. His play on the court in those 8 minutes proved that too. Your argument only proves my point: Lowry's first playoff series was way better than AB's. Lowry has gotten a lot better since 08 series. You're blind if you can't see that. Do you think he'd still average 2.5 assits/1.5 Tos in 20 minutes at this stage?
Well, except dribble and create a good shot for himself and others....which this team desperatly needs. DD
Lowry was better in 08/09 regular seasons than he is now. He use to aggressively attack the basket and draw fouls. He no longer does that.
No, Lowry was not better in 08-09 regular season. His pass, defense and temple control isn't as good as he is not. And don't be so eager to judge his reduced numbers of attacking basket. That style has given him several injuries already. With Brooks being out and Ish still learning, Lowry could literally be told by coaches or management to hold back at attacking bastket that aggressively. He still gets into the paint frequently, and makes timely passes to outside shooters better than last season. Overall, he's a lot better than 08-09 season.
You guys just like to make things up? Or do you honestly believe the things you are saying? 2009 - 24 mpg , 7 shots / g , 40% shooting , 4 fta /g , 4.5 assists, 1.7 t/o , 2.65 as/to 2010 - 32 mpg , 7.6 shots / g , 37% shooting, 3 fta/g , 6.6 assists, 2.64 t/o , 2.5 as/to So in an extra 8 minutes per game. Lowry takes .5 more shots, shoots less accurately, gets to the line LESS, dishes out 2 extra assists and 1 more turnover. This is not playing better, this is playing worse.
But Brooks shoots way too many of the "I haven't shot in a while" shots. Lowry on the other hand looks for his teammates before deciding to shoot himself. I agree that this team needs AB's ability to create, but we also need someone who thinks of others before himself, ie Lowry
Kyle Lowry Assist Ratio 2009-10 30.5 20010-11 36.7 Steals 2009-10 0.9 steals per game 2010-11 1.6 steals per game He's also had a really slow start which skewed his stats negatively. Over the last 6 games he has been excellent.
Do you look at the game or just the stats only? Lowry has never been as good controling the temple given excessive minutes before like he is doing in recent games. First, look at your own posts, we are talking about 08-09 season, not 09-10 season. Last season Lowry made a bigger impact thatn AB in terms of winning, he already made huge improvements over 08-09. If you say Lowry hasn't made much improvement over last season, it's fair. But AB hasn't made much improvement over last season eiter. Second, Lowry has a very slow start this season due to injury and new role to play with starters. He was much worse than last season at the beginning of the seasn. But things has changed. He has yurned things around as the season goes on. Look at his stats in past 10 games then talk.
Are you kidding me? AB was a rookie who barely played because Alston logged all the major minutes. You Lowry supporters are insane. Lowry sucked in the playoffs against both the Lakers and the Blazers. Don't you think that playoff performance is critical when determining the starter of this team? When the defensive intensity picks up and Lowry is forced to play a halfcourt came, he isn't half the player AB is. That is why he sucked horribly in the playoffs and AB excelled.
Who is kidding? Look at all those posts. Your question is already answered. AB failed more than Lowry in his playoff series. He couldn't even get more minutes when Alston coouldn't play in first 2 games. AB has the excuse of being a rookie, Lowry has the excuse of being the Rockets only for half a season too. So can we call it even? My point is: What passed is passed. Look at now, look at who fits the other players to make Rockets a better team now. When Shaq was young, he was way better than Dwight Howard is now. But you won't take Shaq over Howard at this stage. There is no point to bring up what Lowry did two years ago in his first ever playoff experienc being on a team only half of a season to use it against Lowry. Everything has changed. Compare them now with the makeup of the team, not the past.
But you can't say that fact has made him innefective in running our offense. I agree AB has the edge, he can affect the game more than Lowry or any of our other guards can, but he has to improve on the defense he showed this season, he was plain terrible in some crucial plays. Lowry could have had done it in Memphis, it has been said that Lowry outplayed Conley in lots of nights, but, nobody would sit their lottery pick for a late first rounder. All I am saying is that Lowry is a competent starter in this league and Brooks has played below acceptable defense this season, which I hope and can reasonable expect for him to improve when he gets back.
Lowry is a competent starter in this league, but that does not mean he should start over AB (who is quite frankly a much more dynamic/better player).
