did we not just have a thread just like this like 2 weeks ago?? First, the clippers have said Kaman isn't going anywhere, so that's why its not likely. Second, he makes like 10 mil a year, for him to come in and play 20 mins a game, that's a HUGE waste. Yao isn't going to play less than 30-32 mins, and the PF isn't exactly open since, even if scola was traded, we'd have Landry and Hayes. Third, not sure why you'd want to trade our second biggest bargain in Scola (first is Hayes). He makes only 3 mil a year. Kaman only solves the back up problemand somewhat addresses the lack of heigh, but the guy isn't athletic enough to give us what we really need, and that's a long athletic guy like a tyrus Thomas, Javalee Mcgee, etc..
Kamen or Camby is great. Considering they have Randolph now, they might be willing to trade one of the threes. Now the problem is who we would like to give up.
More wins. When Yao goes down again we still have a top 5 center He can play power forward as well He can still play 30 minutes a night regardless if he starts or not Less minutes for Yao means he might actually make it through the whole season and be a force in the play offs. Does any of that seem like a waste? Not to me.
What is his contract like? I'm guessing quite a lot. He isn't a great defender but I like his length, height and shot blocking.Unfortunately he is injury prone, but he can probably give 15-20 mins a night.
Camby makes more sense. He's a really good defender, long and still atheletic and he can play the 4. Its going to cost scola, hayes, head, francis and probably dorsey or a 2nd, but they still have Landry as a backup 4, then camby can slide over for yao.
Winner. Clippers are not going to get rid of Kaman in order to give Camby a starter position. Wait until they buy out Camby's contract ...
