Sorry if this has been discussed, what is the status of Robert Horry. Didn't we offer him a contract the same day as Brent? I don't necessarily want him if we have to get rid of Harris, but is the offer still on the table? Is Horry even in our plans after getting Artest?

I don't think we even offered him a contract. We have enough PF's anyways although he would be useful as good luck charm.

We haven't offered him a contract, and I wouldn't expect them to either.

I'm gonna go check the chronicle. There was a huge thread here about it the 1st day of free agency. Everyone was happy about Barry, and there was mixed feelings about Horry. At the time I thought " why not", but I don't think we need him now.

I found it. On 6/30 an article by Berman says that Rockets are "targeting" Barry, have a "CLOSE EYE" on Horry. So we have not offered him a contract but the question is, Do we still have a "close eye" on Horry.

i ran in to robert in houston 2 days ago at custom care stereo on the SW side...same company that does T-mac, Mario Williams, Sam Cassell, and other pro athletes stereos for home and cars..

I asked him about his status for next season and he said "we dont know yet, we are still working on it" but he seemed upset about it. I told him he needs to come back to Houston...he just laughed..

Thanks for the info. I wonder if Landry has something to do with it. It doesn't seem likely that rockets would go after him, but I also don't underestimate Morey's ability to pull some moves that would make signing Horry necessary.

If we do sign Robert Horry, even if its just for the minimum, I think that would be purely a Les Alexander move. I don't see Daryl Morey signing a player and using up a valued roster spot for sentimental reasons or for "good luck". That's essentially all a Robert Horry signing would be at this stage.

i dont think the rockets would make a good move if they picked him up plus hes already too old......why pickup an old player that i doubt can even contribute sure the rockets picked up barry but he will be able to contribute with his shooting to be able to space out the court

He might be big shot bob, but when you've got TMac,Yao,Artest,Battier,Barry,Scola,Landry,Brooks,Alston you think there would be room on the floor for Bob in one of those "big shot" moments? I saw bring him and cassell back and dump head and francis and lets gets some of that 1993 Clutch City magic back

Robert Horry is better on great teams. The Rockets are a great team.

He wants us to sign him but we lack the roster spot/desire to bring him in.

If Landry doesn't sign... I wouldn't want Horry in his spot, I would want Mike Harris to take his minutes.

All Robert Horry is good for at this point in his career is to injure Steve Nash if we face the Suns in the playoffs

Like John McCain's first wife, Robert Horry is too old and the Rockets are too good for him now after getting younger and more talented guys to fill the spot.
