If Stoudemire comes, we'll have the 1 pretty stable with DS/James/Spounoulis (if he comes, but doubt it). At the two I guess we'll have to deal with Wesley, Sura and Head, but what about Barry???

How much do you guys think Barry will resign for? That guy's nothing but heart. :D

Part of what made the chemistry on last year's squad so special was the veteran role players like Barry and Mutombo. I say definitely bring him back this fall. He hit some huge shots for us down the stretch and in the playoffs. I'm also a huge Sura fan as all. These guys are cheap, and they provide a huge lift with their hustle and energy.

Since Barry said he would only sign with Houston or retire after last season i am pretty sure he will play for the minimum and actually be on this team. The guy is basketball smart and clutch when we need him to be so he will be on this team on opening night.

My fav. player last season wasn't Yao or T-Mac it was J. Barry. Just the energy he brought onto the court was amazing!

The more you use Barry, the more he's exposed. But for 10 minutes a half, he can be a game changer. He's the perfect 8th man off a bench.

Exactly. Not to mention the fact that he's the coolest guy on the team. A young streetballa in an old white guy's body.

    KGs 4th year 20.8 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.8 bpg, 37.9 mpg

Yaos 4th year We can only hope for 20/10 !

Now on topic, I'm sure they'll resign Barry. The guy had one of his best years. His +/- was +11. http://www.82games.com/0405HOU.HTM

I hope we can bring him back and get rid of Moochie and Ward.

But, I hate to say it, I would sign Finley before Barry given our limited roster spots.

i hope we keep barry. it was obvious during the playoffs he was a key guy to the team in the locker room. he's tough and a great clutch shooter. i think he'd sign for the league veteran minimum.

We got to bring Barry back....if nothing more than for chemistry reasons. Plus he was one of the best passers into the post to Yao. Barry can come back and play some backup 3 if nothing else.

Oh heeeeeeell no.......you've got to be kidding me

JB has more basketball IQ in his tennis shoe then Finley has in his whole body. Now I will say Finley is more athletic then JB but if I was choosing players for a TEAM you have to go with JB...

signing barry and mutombo to the one year vet minimum contracts IMO should be the highest priority for the rockets once a true pg situation is resolved. both players have voiced their opinions about playing in houston and both are favorites of the team and the fans.

Just learned that teams only have two veteran's exceptions. So for sure one of them is to bring back Mount Mutumbo. I'd be happy with Barry for sure, but what if we go for Stoudamire with the other exception? I'm not sure how things are going to shake out unless we can really get some other teams to play ball with us and take some expiring contracts off our hands . . .

I've got to think the Rocks management is all over this. CD/JVG/et al are doing a great job, and both of these cases are way to easy to solve.

Just because management is not telling us doesn't mean they are not doing it. I hate this tight lip thing we have going, but I love JVG and the results he is getting so I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Did we already release our rights to Mutombo? He originally signed a two-year deal with the Knicks before going to Chicago and then to us, which would mean we would have had Early Bird rights.

i love jon barry. i don't know if he HAS to be retained but his energy and chemistry with everyone really brought the team together. there's always a sopt for a guy with his b-ball IQ and shooting. imo it's pretty important that we bring him back.
