It WAS one of the fastest paced, most well-written shows on television. But that ended about 2 seasons ago. I still watch it when I can, but I don't fool myself into believing the show hasn't taken a turn for the worst. Right now, it's like they're jockeying for which characters stay and which ones go as they transition into a new tenure of West Wing. Looks like they'll keep around 2 or 3 old characters (Josh, Leo, maybe Donna) and the rest go by the wayside. This ain't Law and Order, people! Geez!
My new girlfriend got me hooked...The season finale was awesome...I knew Santos would do it, but Leo was a complete surprise and a great way to end the season...I've seen some of the earlier shows and definitely, the early seaons had better writing, but this season has been better than usual... I think CJ leaked the story, but it seems to logical...maybe the Pres...Next season will rock...
Going strictly on character, I would prefer Vinnick to win. Santos is too bland. He is the epitomy of integrity and morality - but really, that's kind of boring. At least Vinnick has interesting twists to his character like he doesn't believe in God that much.. and also when he was choosing a VP candidate, his first choice was the guy who would assure him of winning the election, not the best VP for the country.
The show was better when Tommy Schlamme was writing it. Now they have a liberal Republican running against a moderate to liberal democrat. I guess the writers don't want to extend themselves by putting a conservative in the White House.
It took a turn for the worse last season...almost everyone, critics and fans, agree that it's shot right back up this season. Who do you think the leak is? I thought for sure it was C.J., in fact, I think we may have even seen it. Anyway, great episode, great season. Thank you Bravo and Ch. 13!!! You'll keep supplying me with my West Wing fit until next season. BTW, StupidMoniker, maybe they're waiting for a real conservative to get in the White House before they write one in.
Santos is a Houstonian John Wells is the ultimate decision-maker on WW. He (along with logistics such as exactly which actor is willing to sign for a full-time gig) will decide who wins the election. For the record, Houstonian (and Bellaire High School alum Mark Goffman) is also one of the higher-ups.
I think it is CJ. I think Toby is the target of the FBI and will get destroyed trying to protect CJ. I can't believe Sorkin would let a Republican win on his show.
Yeah, the feel of the show has been completely different since he left. Wednesday night was the first time in a long time that an episode had a Sorkinesque feel to it.
I'm 99% sure that it was CJ as well but that would be an interesting twist for Toby to protect her. He has mentioned in previous episodes that he thinks he might get more done as a member of a School board or City Council. I never really thought CJ had what it took to be Chief of Staff anyway. She always had a problems making the tough decisions.
I'm almost positive it's CJ. She was furious at them not going all out to get these people and I swear there was a scene in the penultimate episode where she's considering or actually doing so. Another guess is the little blonde that you can tell Toby's come to really like. That'd fit in with him being upset about it. All I care about next year is that whoever wins, Mary McCormack has a position in the administration. Yum.
