1. Cincinnati (C-USA champions) 2. Oklahoma (Big 12 tourney champions) 3. Arizona (Pac-10 tourney champs) 4. Ohio St. (Big 10 champs) 6. Gonzaga (maybe the best no. 6 seed in a long time) What an absolutley brutal bracket. This is what Oklahoma gets for winning the Big 12 tourney? A no. 2 seed in the toughest bracket in years? If I was an OU fan I would be pissed. Nonetheless, I still think they will win this bracket. They showed the nation today how great a team they can be by drubbing No. 1 Kansas.
I don't understand why the OU fans are so upset right now. There were 5 teams worthy of #1 seeds. Cincy was most probably the 4th #1, so they put the highest rated #2 seed in their bracket. If OU was the #1 seed in the West, Cincy woulda been the #2 so does it really matter? The Zags, however, got royally screwed, as did Butler.
To me, the West is deep, but not great at the top. Cincy is a weak #1 seed compared to other years. OU would have been a weak #1 seed as well. I don't believe in Miami, or Ohio State. I have Arizona winning the West.
The winner of Gonzaga-Arizona in the 2nd round will be the West champion. It's a very tough bracket, but those two stand out to me. OU did get jipped, and #1 in the West would've almost guaranteed them a trip to at least the sweet 16 and probably the elite 8 - but I don't think it'll matter in the end.
