Well Done Philadelphia!! The 76ers played with the heart of a champion, but just weren't able to pull this one out. But I have to give huge props to everyone on that team, from AI to Kevin Ollie and Eric Snow. Well done y'all, and I hope we kick your butts next year [IMG]

Philly deserves all the credit in the world. I hope that next year they can stay healthy and pick up a pure shooter. That is all they need for a title.

Take that Spurs! That is what a championship calliber team plays like: undying effort and courage. Philly may not have brought home the trophy, but they are champions in every way that counts.

    Thanks for a great playoffs.

The refs can burn in hell!

Do you hear that laughter? Thats Shaq as he laughed at the 76ers all night. The only reason Philly even won a game was because the Lakers gave them no respect and sleep walked through the series. Philly is not the heart of a champion and is no champion in any sense of the word! The 76ers would have been lucky to have won a game against the Spurs, Kings or Blazers if one of those teams were in the finals. The 76ers are an avg team in the lowely eastern conferance nothing else.

Any proof to back this up?

The Lakers led 18-5 in game one, was that just rust?

Game 2 was lost because the Sixers missed 10 free throws.

Game 3 was lost because they left Horry open for a three.

Game 4 was lost in the middle of the fourth quarter, after the Sixers closed to within seven.

And this game was certain only after Fisher hit that three late in the fourth.

How is Philly a weak eastern conference team?

    How was this a steamroll?

Every game was close, this was not domination. Take of the Laker bandwagon glasses.

Did the Blazers, Kings or Spurs beat the Lakers even once? Nope.

Is that why the Lakers had trouble putting them away this entire series? Even when it looked like the Lakers would cruise the 76ers made a run. I don't care how they won a game, they won a game. You won't see in the record book "Philadelphia wins game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals - By the way the Lakers took them lightly!" So yes it was a competitive series.

L.A. won it in 5 games. This was no fluke. The 76ers would have strugled to make the 6th or 7th seed in the west. The poor little 76ers got swept on their own home court while Shaq laughed at them in every game.

That's weak crash. The 76ers were in the Finals. You can complain about the 76ers and what they would have done in the West, but they were in the Finals. The Series went 5 games, and it was a competitive, and enjoyable Finals series. I would rather be the "poor little 76ers" getting swept on my homecourt then be the "poor little Kings, Spurs, and Blazers" and having my manhood stripped away and getting swept period.

You call 4 wins to 1 while sweeping the 76ers on their home court competitive? Don't you find it a little bit of a coincedence that every time the 76ers would get to about 4 the lakers would push it back out to 10 or 14? Did you see Shaq laughing every time he ran down the court?

I don't care if Shaq was laughing. I've seen guys laughing on the court when they were down 10 points. It was a competitive series, you're one of the few people who think it wasn't, and you're one of the few people who think that Philadelphia wasn't a good team. You don't win 56 games and get to the Finals being a bad team. But if you want to complain about the Series and brag about the Lakers "pounding" the 76ers be my guest. I won't stop you.

Thats not weak thats just fact. The 76ers play in a far weaker conferance. Both Toronto and Milwaukee took the 76ers to 7 games. The 76ers never had a realistic shot at beating the Lakers. You know it, I know it and so does everyone else. Just the facts.

Shaq's laughing was simply his arrogance shining through. He would laugh if they trailed by ten with a minute left in game seven.

On paper a five game series looks uncompetitive, but if you examine each game, you'd see that this was the most highly competitive finals series since the Rockets and Knicks. The Lakers just managed to pull out a few close wins, and in the end, I suppose that is all that count.

But to say that this was an uncompetitive series is dissing the Sixers big-time.

And woopty doo. The Lakers struggled to put away a team that was decimated by injuries. Yeah, what a team.

A five game series is not a close series, unless it happens in the first round. I don't care how close the games were, the Lakers still swept four straight from the Sixers.

    That was not close.

    That was not enjoyable.

    This series sucked.

The result certainly sucked, but that is not what this thread is about. Philly played their hearts out, and only lost because of injuries and missed free throws. Imagine what they could have done if they had stayed healthy.

Everyone is injured at this time of the year. The Sixers did not lose this series because of injuries, they lost it because they were not as good as the Lakers, and their big mid-season acquisition, Mutombo, got ripped by O'Neal, the man who Mutombo was brought in to combat.

Just be happy the season is over [IMG]

Iverson had a great year. Sixers fought hard all season long just to get to the Finals. Lakers are just too good for anyone right now.

No one is fully healthy after playing a full season and the playoffs like that. They will always have nagging injuries to hte ankles and knees especially.

Merely because NBC didn't play up their pains does not mean that they were not hurting.
