I just realized I have a lot of free time and I need a hobby...So I'm thinking about registering a domain and starting up a new personal website... It has been a long time since I've really messed with webhosting, so I was wondering what some cheap/reliable web hosting companies are. I don't really need tons of webspace, something around 100 megs maybe? I probably wouldn't use that much, but I like having enough to do whatever I want. I'd also like pop3 e-mail to be included. www.ipowerweb.com seems to have tons of space and features for really cheap, but that just sounds like too good of a deal... Any suggestions?
SirCharles, I just signed up with LunarPages.com to host my wife's business website. They had very good reviews. For $110, I got the domain name and 2 years worth of hosting, including up to 99 pop email accounts. They have alot of nice interactive features to help set up your site and their customer support is awesome. They also have a support BBS with all types of free website advice. So far, its worked out well. Site loads quickly and has never been down.
IceMelon This is where I host my service. I can get you a good deal because I know them. Its really good, reliable, and cheap. You can find out more info on the site. Peace,
I'll second lunarpages, those guys are economical, and the performance has been good so far. It's quite a cheap to host JSP/Servlets too.
