    From the chronicle

"We felt like Steve had the mismatch with Shawn Marion guarding him," Norris said. "I knew they were going to leave Kevin Willis or me. I knew I was the guy who was going to get the ball. When I saw Steve go to the basket and pump-fake and turn around, I got my feet together and shot the ball and got relief. As soon as I shot it, I knew it was good."

"I told Eddie Johnson, if they leave me, I'm going to win the game," Norris said. "I saw him hit the shot in the playoffs with the Rockets. That's a dream, hitting a clutch shot, when your team needs it, at the buzzer, go off the court, no one takes another shot."

EG- that guy was the timekeeper. Apparently (someone else who actually saw the game can clarify this) he was thanking him for sounding the buzzer after he launched the shot. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. :)

    Great shot, though.

Okay, I found the answer to my question by reading some other threads. I was beginning to think there for a minute that EJ was an assistant coach, but he is one of the Suns announcers. I wonder why he's with the Suns other than the fact that they offered him a job?

According to BGM's post, I think it may have been Eddie Johnson.

He played for the Sun's from '87-'90 ( including his sixth man of the year season in '89) and has lived in Phoenix ever since. He's been the announcer for the Phoenix Mercury since the WNBA was founded.

Perhaps that Phoenix timekeeper is the same guy from the Jazz series in '94 that didn't start the clock for about 15 seconds?

Great shot by Mooch...Believe in the power of the 'fro...
