Small ball, and i mean the no post play/no defense style, is not real basketball and will never win a championship. It is very effective during the regular season because it is hard to matchup with and it takes more time to plan for. I don't think the warriors are really a small ball team, in theory, when they are healthy. Think about it, they rebound the ball, they play defense, they slash in the paint and have a good post up option (Davis), they even block shots (Biedrins). My biggest problem with small ball has always been with the offense. It is bad basketball to take so many jump shots, while they may fall, the team misses out on alot of easy baskets. The warriors get alot of points in the paint. The suns are dropping games with shaq because they wanna keep playing small ball instead of utilizing one of the best bigs ever.
Anyone know where I can watch this? I cancelled my cable with Time Warner to get Dish Network and they won't be coming out until Saturday!!!
As was pointed out, it's interesting watching the Suns blow their cool this game instead of the Warriors. Nash was late and deserved the blocking foul. I think the fact BD hit him so hard caused Nash to blow up and get their 3rd "T".
my impression from watching the shaq-era suns is that nash is having to work too hard. this looks like their last shot and it's not a great one at that. next year shaq is a year worse and nash's body may not carry this load over a whole season.
neither of these teams play a lick of Dee ... ok i guess for GS, but PHX with Shaq should at least make a token attempt every now & then.
Even And1 guys think the defense is lacking tonight. But I do like the intensity. It's a T (technical foul) party!
i'm REALLY looking forward to next week to see how we stack up. can our D stay consistent for ALL 5 games? can our offense score consistently to match these guys?
i was just gonna say, the warriors need to work on not getting shaq into foul trouble. it keeps coming back to bite them.
