Someone who doesn't turn the ball over or jack up an ugly shot when we need some buckets... I thought Steve could be the man, but twice this last week he has failed miserably down the stretch... God, we need Webber...

The differences between Francis and, for example, Isiah Thomas or Joe Dumars, in terms of taking over a game...is that Thomas and Dumars had the benefit of a few years of experience, solid defensive front-line players, Daly, and an aggressive mentality (in terms of attacking the basket).

Maybe he is trying too hard to be the PG, but Francis looks to pass more than score. This is especially true on fast-breaks. Francis needs to develop the mentality of looking to score -before- passing.

Thomas and Dumars also had each other -- not to mention some tough interior players. Houston, right now, lacks interior tough-ness.

I like what Taylor brings to the team. Francis, Mobley, Anderson, and Norris. Bullard will probably stay.

That leaves about six players/positions, a few draft picks, and room under the salary cap to work with this summer.

Taylor, Anderson, and Norris will probably use up the cap space.

Cato, Thomas, Williams, and Rogers will probably be used for trade considerations.

University Blue, You know thats the thing I don't understand about Francis. I've never seen a point guard given as many opportunities, by his opponent, to take an unattested 15-17 foot jump shot. Players play way back on Francis knowing he will not use his unstoppable juking capabilites for anything other than a three-pointer or a bullying-rim-attack. It was sickening last night to see such a below average shooter and minimal one-on-one guard in Jason Kidd tutoring Francis. Below the threepoint line and above the free-throw line is where Francis can learn his lesson from the Kidd.
