There's some thought about SAR for Wally. Could the rockets get Wally for MoT and change?

    What do you think?

Why would either team consider it?

    I have no idea.

It's great how so many people think Mo can be traded for anything. Let's trade him for some Google stock.

Ha, I'd love Wally on the Rockets but it just can't happen. The Gods wont allow it.

Wally has a contract that will pay him 12-13M the next 4 years, something the Rockets don't need.

we don't need Mo's $9M+/ either. seriously if we want Wally badly they might consider a J.J. + Taylor + Pike for Szerbiak deal. I'd prefer keep JJ though. if possible trade Taylor for a shot blocker/rebounder. Mo + Lue + Pike for G.P. + R.La?

Minnesota has also matched the offer to Trenton Hassell and re-signed Troy Hudson. They will have a very high salary figure next year.

By DAVE CAMPBELL, AP Sports Writer
    August 9, 2004
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves re-signed point guard Troy Hudson on Monday, a month after the two sides agreed to terms on a contract worth up to $37 million over six years.
Complicated provisions in the deal regarding Hudson's health -- he missed the playoffs and all but 29 regular-season games with a severely sprained ankle -- were the source of the holdup.
``There were some nervous moments, because it was taking so long,'' agent Bill Neff said.

The first four years of the deal are guaranteed, and the fifth year is dependent on Hudson playing 65 games in any of the four years. The sixth year is dependent on Hudson reaching certain incentives...

    37 / 6 = 6.16repeat
    ------------------------------------
    GEOFFREY C. ARNOLD
His annual salary will jump from $587,435 to somewhere between $4.5 million and $4.9 million, but Trenton Hassell's newfound riches are unlikely to change him.

Hassell, a Minnesota Timberwolves guard who signed a six-year, $27 million free agent offer sheet with Trail Blazers on Tuesday...

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
So, add 10.6 million to the 70 plus they had.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, Wally’s got to go. What they should want is an expiring contract or trade exception. Much as I’d like to put Wally opposite Tmac and Yao, I don’t think we have that. Unless we got a 10.5 trade exception from the Tmac deal via Steve. Then, sure, go for it.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Taylor – Ummm…No. I don’t think so.

We don’t have that many expiring contracts to send with whatever our trade exception is. Boki is probably the most attractive.

I think the SAR deal will end up going down, unless Minn. just has carte blanche to spend like Dallas, Portland and NY.

Wally's contract is FAR worse then Mo's contract. I'd rather have Mo's contract then Wally's contract, especially if it also costs us Jimmy Jackson and the opportunity to pick up Mutombo. Just say no to "Wally World".

Didn't Garnett take a salary cut down to $20 million?

    Is it?

MoT made 7.8 mil last year
WallyWorld made 8 mil last year

    MoT's contract runs through 06 - 07
WallyWorlds contract expires in 09 just 2 years later.

    MoT is 27
    WallyWorld is 27

MoT is a career .469 shooter with a sweet outside shot but does not extend to the 3 point line
WallyWorld is a career .500 shooter with a .413 stroke from behind the arc.

Neither is known for their defense.

Both players are very comparable with comparable saleries. IMO Wally would look very nice on the perimeter with Yao Ming inside. I don't really think Minny would consider this though.

Wally would be much better for this team than Mo. We need the outside shooting more than we need a backup power forward. He would make teams pay for doubling Tmac or Yao.

I just don't see how we could get him. Sure, try. I'd love to get Wally and Kandi. That'd make our roster pretty good. I just have a hard time thinking we can get it done. But hey, sure, Mo T + Pike and the TE in a seperate deal. ;). Throw in Jax or Boki or whatever. It's under the cap now!

I wish I knew what our TE was and when it expires.

You forgot to add how much these guys will be making the next couple seasons.

MoT is set to make btwn 8-9M the next 2 seasons
Wally is set to make btwn 12-13M the last couple seasons of his contract.

While you can't argue that MoT is better, which he isn't, the price of his contract and the length make him a much better deal than Wally. MoT's 8-9M coming off the books in 2 years will be perfect timing when we need to resign Yao.

I would do it, as long as MoT goes in the deal.

But where would he get his minutes? JJ and T-Mac usually play very heavy minutes, and none of these three can play anywhere but SG and SF.

Wally would be a nice addition to this team, his shooting would be EXCELLENT.

We need to send Mo Taylor to the Wolves, Pike and Lue to the Bulls, Mutombo to the Wolves.

Then we immediately, within 48 hours, we send Wally to Portland for SAR. Keep him for a year, then after a year, sign n trade him to Seattle for Rashard Lewis, hopefully Radman blossoms into their 3 and they need more inside scoring (SAR).

Man, I can't wait for the damn season to start. I think we need a PURE shooter to go with Yao and T-Mac though. Someone like Wally, Rashard, Red, Allan Houston, Ray Allen, etc..

I think Wally World would be a good addition to the Rockets, but not at the expense of Mo Taylor, unless we get maybe Mad Dog Madsen or Gary Trent included along in the deal.

Plus, Wally is so hot right now..

If Wally's outside shooting would keep people from sagging down on Yao Ming and give TMac the freedom to do his thing then he would be worth every penny...IMO.

Wally is a spoiled brat who feuded with one of the top 3 players in the game in KG because he thought he shuoldn't have to defer to him. Do you really want this kind of egomaniac on the Rox squad? If he didn't want to defer to KG, why the hell would he defer to Yao or Tmac? He's an overpaid spoiled brat

I agree that Wally's shooting would be a nice addition to the team, but not at 12-13M.
